PREVIEW: Pats Battle Hitmen On Family Day At Home
Regina, Sask. – The Regina Pats battle the Calgary Hitmen in the biggest game of the season with puck drop set for 2:00 p.m., CST at the Brandt Centre.
Following this afternoons game, fans are welcome to participate in a public post-game skate, joining Pats players on the ice.

Today’s game has playoff implications written all over it, as the Pats trail the Hitmen by seven points in the Eastern Conference standings with 13 games left in the season for the Regiment. This is a must win game for the Pats who look for two points in regulation.
The Pats come in with a 20-29-4-2 record and 46 points while the Hitmen come in 23-23-6-1 with 53 points.
The Pats have dropped their last three games and are coming off a 6-2 loss to the Swift Current Broncos on Saturday on the road. The Pats got first period goals from Zach Moore and Anthony Wilson, as the game was tied 2-2 after 20 minutes. In the second, the Broncos took the lead, scoring three times, and leading 5-2 after two.
Ewan Huet got the start, allowing five goals on 34 shots in 40 minutes of action. Kelton Pyne allowed one goal on 12 shots in relief. The final shots in the contest were 46-21 for the Broncos. Both teams went 1-4 on their power plays.
Meanwhile, the Hitmen broke their three game skid with a 5-3 win over the Moose Jaw Warriors on Saturday at the Moose Jaw Events Centre. Keets Fawcett was the hero, scoring the go-ahead goal with under seven minutes to play. He was named the first star and finished with two points (1G-1A).
Oliver Tulk led the way up front with a three point game (1G-2A), while Ben Kindel (1G-1A), Carson Wetsch and Sawyer Mayes rounded out the scoring. Ethan Moore added two helpers and Alex Garrett made 33 saves in the win. The shots were 36-33 for Moose Jaw. The Warriors went 1-2 on their power play while the Hitmen went 0-3 on their power play.
