Pats Prospect Update: Feb. 12, 2024
Regina, Sask. – The Regina Pats are excited to introduce a new feature with a weekly prospect update leading into the 2024 WHL Prospects Draft and 2024 Spring Development Camp.
Here are five Pats prospects who made headlines last week (Feb. 5 – 11).
Madden Mulawka | 2006-Born Goaltender | Edmonton Jr. Oilers AAA
Mulawka, 17, is 10-1-1 with a 2.06 goals-against average and a .933 save-percentage in 12 games this season with the Edmonton Jr. Oilers U18 AAA squad. Last week, the 6-foot-2, 205 lb. goaltender went 2-0, picking up his second shutout of the season on February 7. Acquired from Prince George earlier this season, the Edmonton, Alta. product has won his last four starts, having allowed three goals against during that time.
Brayden Smith | 2007-Born Defenceman | Saskatoon Blazers U18 AAA
Smith, 16, has 38 points (8G-30A) in 34 games this season with the Blazers, leading to a callup to the Pats where he has dressed over the past two games. The 6-foot-1, 174 lb. left-shot defenceman is currently on a nine game point-streak in U18 AAA. The Saskatoon, Sask. product was drafted in the third-round of the 2022 WHL Prospects Draft.
Wyatt Stinton | 2007-Born Forward | Rink Hockey Academy Winnipeg U18
Stinton, 17, has tallied 33 points (20G-13A) in 26 games this season with RHA Winnipeg. This past week, the Flin Flon, Man. product recorded nine points (6G-3A) in three games. Drafted by the Pats in the fifth-round in 2022, the 5-foot-10, 159 lb. left-shot forward had five goals and one assist on February 9.
Hudson Brehaut | 2007-Born Forward | Warman Wildcats U18 AAA
Brehaut, 16, had six points (3G-3A) in three games this past week, recording goals in three straight games. The Whitewood, Sask. product has 29 points (11G-18A) in 39 games this season with Warman. The 5-foot-8, 154 lb. left-shot forward was listed by the Pats last year.
Dayton Reschny | 2006-Born Forward | Tisdale Trojans U18 AAA
Reschny, 17, was listed by the Pats in the fall of 2023 and has 49 points (20G-29A) in 35 games this season, leading the Trojans in scoring while tied for seventh in league scoring. The Macklin, Sask. product had five points (2G-3A) in two games last week and is on an 11 game point-streak with 22 points over that span. The 5-foot-10, 161 lb. left-shot forward is the cousin of Victoria Royals forward Cole Reschny.
