Pats Acquire Ty Gibson And Second Round Pick From Everett For Berge
Regina, Sask. – The Regina Pats have traded 2003-born defenceman Parker Berge to the Everett Silvertips in exchange for 2003-born defenceman Ty Gibson and a second-round pick in 2025.
“First off, I want to thank Parker Berge for his time as a Pat,” Regina Pats VP, Hockey Operations & GM Alan Millar said. “He’s a first-class young man and we’re proud of his time here, his development and the player he has become. We are pleased to add Ty Gibson to our hockey club. He brings a similar skillset to Berge and will be an important player for us as we work to remain competitive in the Eastern Conference playoff race.”
Berge, 20, has tallied a career-high 37 points (10G-27A) in 36 games this season with the Pats, as well as a plus-minus rating of +4. The Edmonton, Alta. product ranks fourth amongst WHL defencemen in points and tied for third in goals. The 6-foot-1, 187 lb. left-shot defenceman played in 183 career games with the Pats over parts of four seasons with the club from 2019-2023, recording 74 points (15G-59A). He was previously drafted in the eighth round by the Pats in the 2018 WHL Prospects Draft.
Gibson, 20, has recorded 16 points (2G-14A) and a +3 plus-minus rating in 37 games with the Silvertips this season. The Victoria, B.C. product is a veteran of 187 career WHL games (10G-46A-56PTS) as he has played the last four seasons with the Silvertips. Last season, the 5-foot-9, 185 lb. right-shot defenceman tallied 24 points (6G-18A) in 66 games. Gibson was drafted by the Silvertips in the third round of the 2018 WHL Prospects Draft.
