Former Pats Captain Brandon Davidson signs with Buffalo Sabres

Former Regina Pats captain Brandon Davidson signed a one-year deal with the NHL’s Buffalo Sabres on Friday.

The product of Taber, AB was listed by the Pats and went on to play in 200 games in Regina. He put up 22 goals and 112 assists for 134 points in his WHL career. He also appeared in four playoff games with the Pats, recording one assist. In his 20-year-old season, Davidson was named a second-team WHL All-star.

Davidson was drafted by the Edmonton Oilers in the sixth round, 162nd overall in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft. He finished his Pats career in 2013 and is entering his ninth season as a pro.

Davidson has played in 174 NHL games with Edmonton, Montreal, New York, Chicago, Calgary and San Jose, putting up nine goals and 23 points. In 190 games in the AHL, he has put up 15 goals and 49 points.
