        <content:encoded><![CDATA[<strong>Edmonton, Alta. - </strong>The Edmonton Oil Kings are thrilled to announce their most action-packed, family fun promotional schedule for the 2026/2027 season.

This season, every single game at Rogers Place will feature a theme or a giveaway, meaning more fun and a continued commitment to unrivaled family entertainment with the Oil Kings. Adding to that commitment, 85% of games this season are on a weekend or a holiday!

It all kicks off with the Kickoff Carnival at the Home Opener on September 20 with a Family Fun Sunday!

Get your costume's ready as for the first time ever, the Oil Kings host a Kid's Halloween Spooktacular game on Halloween with a 1 p.m. puck drop, meaning plenty of time to go trick-or-treating after the game!

A number of other new promotions are set for this season to add to the fun of Oil Kings games. Kids Crazy Hair Day is back again on November 29, but how about showing off the flow with business in the front and party in the back with Mullet Mayhem on October 25. For the fans of magic and quidditch, A Night in the Wizardly World is on December 18 as the Oil Kings look to cast a spell on the Red Deer Rebels.

In January, the Oil Kings host Polynesian Night, celebrating the Pacific culture, including a giveaway and an invitation for fans to join in on the celebration.

February will see Finger Puppet Friday on February 26 with sets of finger puppets featuring some of your favourite Oil Kings set to be given out.

The new promotions don't stop with the UNO game taking place on March 7, with fun featuring the famous card game!

Family Day Monday is also back for the Oil Kings with a 2 p.m. start on February 15. With the huge success of themes such as Spongebob, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Paw Patrol, and Scooby Doo, this year, things might get a bit... Looney, as it's the Looney Tunes game featuring a specialty jersey featuring some of your favourite characters from the classic show!

Fans will also have the opportunity to help out those in need in their community as October 2 is the Fall Food Drive for Edmonton's Food Bank. Bring your boxes of mac and cheese and use them as noise makers before donating them after the game.

Louie's Birthday Bash is on February 6 as we celebrate everyone's favourite mascot which will include 1,000 Louie the Lion themed giveaways.

The Biggest Game of the Year, Teddy Bear Toss has already been announced and is already selling tickets into the upper bowl for the December 6 game against the Prince Albert Raiders.

Meanwhile, other fan favourite promotions return once again this season including, Country Night on October 23, Kid's Take Over on November 1, Dino Day on November 8, Croc Night on November 28, Superhero Night on January 16, Oil Rumble IV with Love Pro Wrestling is on January 31, Princess Night is on February 7, Hot Wheels Day is on February 21, Ghostbusters Night is February 27.

Plus, long-standing traditions on the Fan Appreciation Game with a surprise bobblehead giveaway, and Team Awards are on March 21 and 28 respectively.

Family Fun Sunday's feature a kids carnival, and a post-game autograph session are back for Sunday home games! Make sure you bring your appetite as well for Wiener Wednesday's, back by popular demand with $2 hot dogs all game long! $2 tacos return too with Taco Tuesday on December 8!

        <content:encoded><![CDATA[<strong>Edmonton, Alta. – </strong>The Edmonton Oil Kings announced today that they have signed 2009-born forward Jonny Bloedow to a WHL Scholarship and Development Agreement.

“We are excited to be signing Jonny,” said Oil Kings President and General Manager Michael Chan. “He works hard, has a good stick with a dangerous shot, and has been a focal point for a very competitive Cretin Derham Hall program for the past two seasons as a freshman and sophomore. We are excited to welcome him at training camp and be a part of his continued development.”

Bloedow, out of Sleepy Eye, MN, USA, spent the last two seasons playing for Cretin-Derham Hall in the Minnesota High School ranks. In two seasons there, Bloedow scored 30 goals and added 31 assists for 61 points in 43 games. He was also an Assistant Captain in 2025/2026.

Meanwhile, this past season, the 5’10”, 170lbs forward also spent time with the United States National Team Development Program U17 squad where he played six games, notching two assists.

        <content:encoded><![CDATA[<strong>Edmonton, Alta. – </strong>Mark your calendars! The Biggest Game of the Year, the 19<sup>th</sup> Annual Teddy Bear Toss presented by The Brick is set for Sunday, December 6 at 4 p.m. as the Edmonton Oil Kings host the Prince Albert Raiders.

Last season, over 16,300 bears came flying onto the ice at Rogers Place after the Oil Kings first goal in front of a near sellout crowd all in support of 880 CHED Santas Anonymous.

Through the previous 18 Teddy Bear Toss games, more than $200,000 have been donated to 880 CHED Santa’s Anonymous along with more than 193,000 stuffed animals, meaning this year will bring the total bears collected to over 200,000, supporting those in our community in need.

It’s also a Family Fun Sunday at Rogers Place with doors opening at 2:30 p.m..

This will mark the second consecutive year that the Oil Kings and Raiders will battle in The Biggest Game of the Year as Edmonton looks to improve on their 10-6-2-0 record in Teddy Bear Toss Game’s.

        <content:encoded><![CDATA[<strong>Edmonton, Alta. – </strong>The Edmonton Oil Kings announced today that they have signed 2011-born defenceman Brayden Lee to a WHL Scholarship and Development Agreement.

“<span data-olk-copy-source="MessageBody">It’s an exciting day to be welcoming Brayden to the organization," said Oil Kings President and General Manager Michael Chan. "Getting to know Brayden as well as his parents, Jin &amp; Stormy, throughout the draft process, we know we are not just getting a quality player but a quality person who is humble and driven. </span>He is a highly intelligent mobile defenceman who can dictate play on both sides of the puck with both his feet and his brains. We are very excited Brayden and his family have committed to our organization’s development environment and look forward to his continued growth with us."

Lee, out of Waxahachie, TX, USA, was selected in the third round, 64<sup>th</sup> overall of the 2026 WHL Prospects Draft by the Oil Kings after spending the 2025/2026 season with Little Caesars 14U AAA club where he had five goals and 23 assists for 28 points in 20 games, along with five points in three playoff games.

More recently, Lee was part of USA Hockey’s U15 Player Development Camp where he had four points in four games while playing for Team Kelly.

Lee is now the third player from the Oil Kings 2026 WHL Prospects Draft to be signed to a WHL Scholarship and Development Agreement, joining Brayden Dean and Brock Vodden.

        <content:encoded><![CDATA[<strong>Edmonton, Alta. – </strong>The Edmonton Oil Kings announced today that they have signed 2008-born forward Olli Wahlroos to a WHL Scholarship and Development Agreement.

“We are excited to officially welcome Olli and his family to the organization,” said Oil Kings President and General Manager Michael Chan. “We are looking forward to what he will bring as a two-way winger that can contribute at both ends of the ice; his work ethic and skill level will help set the tone for our group.”

Wahlroos was selected in the second round, 117<sup>th</sup> overall by the Oil Kings at the 2026 CHL Import Draft out of Kaarina, Finland. Last season, Wahlroos played mostly with the TPS U20 squad where he had 15 points in 24 games. He also had two points in two games with the TPS U18 club.

The 6’1”, 188lbs forward also represented Finland at last years Hlinka Gretzky Cup where he had four assists in five games as Finland finished fourth at the tournament. He was tied for second on his team in points, and led in assists.

Reporting to the General Manager and Head Coach, the Head Equipment Manager will be responsible for developing, coordinating, and administering the equipment program for the Oil Kings.

 	<li>Upkeep of the dressing room facilities and oversee the player's laundry;</li>

 	<li>Arrange and execute, if required, transportation to and from the airport with respect to player movement;</li>

        <content:encoded><![CDATA[<strong>Edmonton, Alta. – </strong>A trio Edmonton Oil Kings prospects and current players are set to represent their countries at the upcoming Hlinka Gretzky Cup in Edmonton.

Recent 2026 CHL Prospects Draft picks Jonas Vanicek and Lukas Kachlir will take the ice for Czechia as they look to improve on a fifth-place finish in 2025.

Vanicek, a 2009-born forward out of Decin, Czechia, was recently signed by the Oil Kings and will enter his first WHL season. Vanicek had 20 points in 15 games for HC Energie Karlovy Vary’s U20 squad last season, along with 29 points in 10 games for the U17 club. Meanwhile, in 12 games during the 2025/2026 season with Czechia’s U17 team, Vanicek had eight points in 12 games.

Vanicek was the 56<sup>th</sup> overall selection at the 2026 CHL Prospects Draft.

Meanwhile, Kachlir was drafted 51<sup>st</sup> overall at the 2026 CHL Prospects Draft and is set to play at his second Hlinka Gretzky Cup for Czechia after earning four points in four games at the 2025 event. Kachlir has also represented Czechia at the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge twice, and the World Under-18 Hockey Championships in 2025. Kachlir spent the 2025/2026 season playing for Bili Tygri Liberec, mainly for the U20 squad where he had 27 points in 29 games. He also suited up for the pro club for 13 games.

Heading into his second full WHL season, Stroeder is set to don the maple leaf for the second time after playing for Team Canada White at the 2025 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge. He had six points in five games at the tournament, winning silver. Stroeder already has 71 games under his belt in the WHL where he has 18 goals and 22 assists. He also added five points in six playoff games this past season.

Behind the bench for Team Canada at the tournament will also be Oil Kings Assistant Coach and Manager of Player Development Kyle Chipchura.

The Hlinka Gretzky Cup will take place from August 3 to 8 in Edmonton at Rogers Place and the Downtown Community Arena.]]></content:encoded>

<strong>About the Role:</strong>

Reporting to the President of Hockey Operations &amp; General Manager – Edmonton Oil Kings, the Video Coach &amp; Coordinator, Hockey Operations will be responsible for all video requirements of the hockey club and support the organization in a variety of administrative areas.

&nbsp;

<strong>Your Focus in this Role:</strong>

 	<li>Coordinate all video requirements of the club, including utilizing Catapult Thunder</li>
 	<li>Assist with the orderly movement of all video, statistical and analytical information; create and compile technical packages utilizing Catapult, PowerPoint and other software</li>
 	<li>Coordinate flow of data and analytics to coaching staff and General Manager</li>
 	<li>Ensure all video equipment is properly maintained and in good working order while providing technical support to all Oil Kings hockey staff, including procurement of equipment and supplies</li>
 	<li>Organize all game video and practice plans for the Oil Kings Coaching Staff</li>
 	<li>Film games and practices and provide video files to coaching staff</li>
 	<li>Support coaching staff with game day preparation – creating presentations/materials for pre-scout/post-game review</li>
 	<li>Plan and conduct pre-season, practice, and post season film sessions</li>
 	<li>Provide on-ice support to coaching staff for practices &amp; run individual or small group player development sessions</li>
 	<li>Assist with WHL Office player documents as directed by the General Manager of the Oil Kings</li>
 	<li>Assist the Oil Kings General Manager with league logistical items throughout the season</li>

        <content:encoded><![CDATA[<strong>Edmonton, Alta. – </strong>The Edmonton Oil Kings announced today that they have acquired 2006-born defenceman Dylan Ronald from the Brandon Wheat Kings in exchange for a conditional 2029 fifth-round WHL Prospects Draft pick.

“We are excited to be adding Dylan to our back end and would like to welcome him and his family to the organization,” said Oil Kings President and General Manager Michael Chan. “He is a veteran of the league that has played all-around minutes on playoff teams the past two seasons and has continued to improve every year. Being from around the area, we are looking forward to the excitement and leadership qualities Dylan will bring to the group while playing his final junior season in Edmonton.”

Standing at 5’11, 187lbs, Ronald was originally signed by the Wheat Kings ahead of the 2024/2025 season and played 106 regular season games with Brandon over the last two seasons. Ronald scored 10 goals and added 26 assists, and added a goal and an assist in seven playoff games.

Ronald is also an alumnus of the Northern Alberta Xtreme program in Edmonton where he played parts of three seasons with the U16 and U18 Prep squads. He was teammates with Oil Kings Luke Powell and Ryan Gower at various points in his time there.

        <content:encoded><![CDATA[<strong>Edmonton, Alta. – </strong>The Edmonton Oil Kings announced today that they have traded 2006-born defenceman Rhys Pederson to the Vancouver Giants in exchange for a 2027 sixth-round WHL Prospects Draft pick.

“Rhys has been a very important member of the team over the past four seasons as a drafted and developed Oil King,” said Oil Kings President and General Manager Michael Chan. “We would like to thank Rhys for the commitment and leadership he showed every day, both on and off the ice. He has laid it on the line for the organization and has been an outstanding role model – he will certainly be missed. We wish him continued success in Vancouver and all his future endeavors.”

Originally drafted in the fifth-round, 90<sup>th</sup> overall in the 2021 WHL Prospects Draft, Pederson played parts of four seasons with the Oil Kings, playing a total of 183 regular season games, scoring four goals and adding 22 assists. Pederson also played eight playoff games as a member of the Oil Kings, notching two assists.

The Stettler, Alta. product was also an Assistant Captain with the Oil Kings during the 2025/2026 season.
