Kurtis Mucha
Kurtis Mucha was hired as the Edmonton Oil Kings Goalie Development Coach again in 2021-2022 after previously spending five seasons (2015-2020) in the same position.
Prior to beginning his coaching career in the WHL, Mucha spent five years on the other side as a player. Mucha spent four seasons (2005-2009) with the Portland Winterhawks and one season (2009-10) with the Kamloops Blazers. He currently holds the league record for most career games played by a goaltender (245), is second all-time in minutes played (13,708) and is third all-time in saves (6,908).
In 2008 he attended the Arizona Coyotes training camp and the following year attended the Edmonton Oilers training camp. In 2014 he served one game as the backup goaltender for the Oilers as an emergency call-up.
After his time in the WHL, Mucha utilized his WHL Scholarship and signed with the University of Alberta Golden Bears, playing for the team for five seasons (2010-2015). During his time with the Golden Bears he won two back-to-back National Championships (2013-14 and 2014-15).
