Michael Chan
Chan was hired as the team’s Director of Scouting ahead of the 2021-2022 season after previously spending four seasons with the club.
The Edmonton native previously served as the Oil Kings Video Coach and Hockey Operations Coordinator from 2017-20. He also worked as a Hockey Operations Intern with the Edmonton Oilers during the 2013-14 and 2015-16 seasons.
During the pandemic shortened 2021 hockey season, Chan was hired by the Toronto Marlies (AHL) as their Video Coach. Following that season, he returned to Edmonton after being offered the Director of Scouting position.
Chan began working in hockey on the University of Alberta Golden Bears (U Sports) coaching staff from 2013-16 as an Assistant Coach and Video Coach. He has also served time with Hockey Canada working as the Video Coach for Team Canada Red at both the 2016 and 2017 U17 World Hockey Challenges and was an assistant coach with the National Sledge Team at the 2017 Para-Ice Hockey World Championship.
