Oil Kings recall goaltender Alex Worthington
Edmonton, AB – The Edmonton Oil Kings have recalled Alex Worthington from the U18 AAA Warman Wildcats.
Worthington, a 2005-born goaltender, was the Oil Kings fifth-round selection, 108th overall, at the 2020 WHL Prospects Draft.
The Waldheim, SK product made his Oil Kings debut earlier this season on December 18 against the Swift Current Broncos making 32 saves to register his first career WHL victory.
This past season with the U18 AAA Warman Wildcats he appeared in 24 games, compiling a 16-6-0 record with a 2.17 goals-against average, .921 save-percentage and three shutouts. He led the entire SMAAAHL in goals-against average and save-percentage. He was named the SMAAAHL’s Top Goaltender and first-team All-Star.
