Oil Kings Place Hay and Gallant on CHL Waivers
Edmonton, Alta. – The Edmonton Oil Kings announced today that 2004-born goalie Kolby Hay, and 2004-born defenceman Matthew Gallant have been place on CHL Waivers.
Hay, out of Monte Creek, B.C., has been a career Oil King, starting with the club in the 2021/2022 season where he was part of the WHL Championship squad. Over the course of the past three seasons, Hay has played 124 games, earning a record of 44-59-4-1, a 4.06 goals-against-average, and a.881 save percentage, with 2 shutouts. He made 23 saves in his lone game this season on Friday against the Lethbridge Hurricanes.
He finishes with the third-most games played among netminders in Oil Kings history and is also third in total saves.
Gallant, a product of Langley, B.C., was acquired by the Oil Kings from the Moose Jaw Warriors during the 2023/2024 season. After joining the team, Gallant played in 45 games, scoring one goal and 13 assists for 14 points. In his WHL Career, Gallant played 176 games, scored 8 goals, and added 39 assists for 47 points. He also played in 11 playoff games in his career.
