Oil Kings Announce 2026 Pre-Season Games Fueled by Federation of Alberta Gas Co-ops
Edmonton, Alta. – The Edmonton Oil Kings have announced their four-game schedule for the Pre-Season Fueled by the Federation of Alberta Gas Co-ops.
This season, the Oil Kings will open their pre-season schedule with a trek to Tumbler Ridge, B.C. for a pair of games against the Prince George Cougars at the Tumbler Ridge Community Centre. The first game will be on Friday, September 4 at 7 p.m., while the second will take place on Sunday, September 6 at 12 p.m.. The games are hosted by the District of Tumbler Ridge, and will be in support of Tumbler Ridge minor hockey, figure skating, curling association, and Old Timers Hockey Club. It also marks the first time since 2019 that the Oil Kings have played pre-season games in British Columbia.
The next weekend, the Oil Kings will head south to pay a visit to the Red Deer Rebels on Friday, September 11. That will be followed on Saturday, September 12 as they’ll host the Calgary Hitmen in Stony Plain, Alta. at the Glenn Hall Centennial Arena at 6 p.m.
“The Oil Kings are thrilled to once again be bringing exciting WHL hockey to a pair of first time communities in Tumbler Ridge and Stony Plain,” said Oil Kings Director of Business Operations Kevin Radomski. “We are excited to continue our tradition of brining WHL pre-season hockey on the road in the support of fundraising and community spirit. We cannot wait to feel the energy and see the community support of each of these municipalities.”
Over the last three seasons, the Oil Kings have helped raise over $60,000 for local grassroots hockey in the communities of Grande Cache, Enoch Cree Nation, Edson, Morinville, Westlock, and Hinton.
The Oil Kings are also thrilled to once again have the Federation of Alberta Gas Co-ops as the presenting sponsor of the pre-season.
