Lethbridge, AB – <\/strong>The Lethbridge Hurricanes Hockey Club have announced that 2008-born forward Logan Stuart has been named to the United States Roster for the 2026 World Junior Summer Showcase.<\/p>\n

Stuart, 18, was named by USA Hockey as one of 47 players to participate in the event while being named as one of 26 forwards for the showcase. The World Junior Summer Showcase will take place from July 26th<\/sup> until August 1st<\/sup> in Windsor, Ontario. The week-long event will include exhibition games between Canada, the United States, Finland and Sweden. The Manhatten Beach, California, product was selected in the 2026 NHL Entry Draft by the Washington Capitals in the seventh-round (208th<\/sup> overall) and is currently attending the Capitals Development Camp.<\/p>\n

The 5\u201910, 175-pound forward signed with the Hurricanes in June after spending the last two seasons with the US National Team Development Program. Stuart recorded a combined 45 points (13g-32a) along with 16 penalty minutes in a combined 80 regular season games during the 2025-2026 season. Stuart amassed 15 points (3g-12a) along with a plus-11 rating with the USNTDP U18 team in United States Hockey League competition.<\/p>\n

Stuart has previously represented the United States at the 2025 CHL-USA Prospects Challenge where he appeared in three games recording one assist in both Calgary and Lethbridge helping Team USA to their first Prospects Challenge Championship. Stuart skated in 169 regular season games at both the U17 and U18 levels over the last two years, recording 90 points (29g-61a) along with 48 penalty minutes. He was originally selected by the Hurricanes in the second-round (36th<\/sup> overall) in the 2023 WHL US Priority Draft.<\/p>\n

In total, Stuart is one of eight players from or committed to the Western Hockey League to participate in the showcase for the United States. \u00a0The 2027 IIHF World Junior Championship will take place in Edmonton and Red Deer, Alberta, from December 26th<\/sup>, 2026 until January 5th<\/sup>, 2027.<\/p>\n

Stuart, 18, is attending the Washington Capitals development camp. The Manhatten Beach, California, product was selected by the Capitals in the seventh-round (208th<\/sup> overall) in the 2026 NHL Entry Draft. He signed with the Hurricanes in June after spending the last two seasons with the US National Team Development Program. Stuart recorded a combined 45 points (13g-32a) along with 16 penalty minutes in a combined 80 regular season games during the 2025-2026 season. The 5\u201910, 175-pound forward amassed 15 points (3g-12a) along with a plus-11 rating with the USNTDP U18 team in United States Hockey League competition.<\/p>\n

Lesiuk, 18, is also attending the Washington Capitals camp. The Duncan, British Columbia, product skated in 63 regular season games with the Hurricanes amassing 14 points (9g-5a) along with 106 penalty minutes during the 2025-2026 season. He finished as the team-leader in penalty minutes while finishing seventh in the WHL in PIMS. In two seasons with Lethbridge, Lesiuk has appeared in 96 regular season games (10g-9a) along with 128 penalty minutes. The 6\u20194, 216-pound forward was originally selected by the Hurricanes in the second-round (36th<\/sup> overall) in the 2023 WHL Prospects Draft.<\/p>\n

Beuker, 18, will attend the New York Rangers development camp. The Humboldt, Saskatchewan, product signed with the Hurricanes in June after spending the last two seasons with the US National Team Development Program. In 2025-2026, he recorded 61 points (20g-41a) along with 18 penalty minutes in a combined 87 regular season games finishing seventh in team scoring. Beuker collected 18 points (6g-12a) along with two penalty minutes and a plus-7 rating in 25 games with USNTDP in United States Hockey League competition. The 5\u201910, 170-pound forward appeared suited up for the USNTDP at the 2025 CHL-USA Prospects Challenge which was held in Calgary and Lethbridge in November. Beuker recorded one goal and four penalty minutes in the three contests. He also represented the United States at the World Under-18 Championships in April where he collected five points (2g-3a) along with a plus-5 rating in five contests finishing fourth in American scoring. He was originally selected by the Hurricanes in the first-round (14th<\/sup> overall) in the 2023 WHL Prospects Draft.<\/p>\n

Additionally, Hurricanes alumni Miguel Marques (Nashville Predators) and Jordan Gustafson (Vegas Golden Knights) while \u2018Canes prospect Filip Novak (Columbus Blue Jackets) are also participating in NHL Development Camps.<\/p>\n

Lethbridge, AB – <\/strong>The Lethbridge Hurricanes Hockey Club, in conjunction with the Western Hockey League, have announced their 2026-2027 regular season schedule.<\/p>\n

The Hurricanes will open their 68-game schedule on Friday, September 18th<\/sup> when they welcome the Medicine Hat Tigers at 7:00pm at the VisitLethbridge.com Arena in the Dairy Queen Home Opener. The schedule will consist of 34 home games and 34 road games during the season. Of the 34 home dates, the Hurricanes will play a total of 16 games on Friday\u2019s along with eight Saturday contests and on Sunday contest. Lethbridge will also play two Tuesday and seven Wednesday games during the regular season campaign.<\/p>\n

Lethbridge will play a total of 56-games during Eastern Conference opponents, including 32 games against Central Division opponents and 24 games against the East Division. The \u2018Canes will play 12 games against the Western Conference, including six games against the BC Division and six against the US Division. The Hurricanes will face each Central Division team \u2013 including the Calgary Hitmen, Edmonton Oil Kings, Medicine Hat Tigers and Red Deer Rebels \u2013 a total of eight times each including four at home and four on the road while facing all East Division opponents \u2013 Brandon Wheat Kings, Moose Jaw Warriors, Prince Albert Raiders, Regina Pats, Saskatoon Blades and Swift Current Broncos \u2013 each four times, including two at home and two on the road.<\/p>\n

The \u2018Canes will play 33 games prior to the Christmas break and 35 games following the break. Lethbridge\u2019s longest homestand will be three-games on four separate occasions, including the first from September 25th<\/sup> until October 3rd<\/sup> and the last being from February 5th<\/sup> until February 12th<\/sup>. The Hurricanes longest road trip of the season will be from October 24th<\/sup> until November 4th<\/sup> when they embark on a season-long four-game road trip.<\/p>\n

Lethbridge, AB – <\/strong>The Lethbridge Hurricanes Hockey Club announced the selections of 2009-born defenceman Dominick Radim Byrtus, 2008-born forward Oliver Sichtar and 2009-born forward Oliver Vanha in the 2026 Canadian Hockey League Import Draft.<\/p>\n

Byrtus, 17, was selected in the first-round (3rd<\/sup> overall) by the Hurricanes. The Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, product is a dual citizen of both United States and Czechia. He spent the 2025-2026 season with the HC Ocelari Trinec U20 team where he appeared in 23 regular season games amassing 12 points (4g-8a) along with 16 penalty minutes. He added seven assists along with six penalty minutes and a plus-11 rating in 10 post-season games. Byrtus also appeared in 22 regular season games with the HC Frydek-Mistek in the Czechia2 league collecting two points (1g-1a).<\/p>\n

The 5\u201910, 190-pound defenceman represented Czechia at the U17 and U18 levels last year. Byrtus skated in seven games recording three assists at the World Under-18 Championship. He also skated in four games being held pointless with the Czechia U17 team at the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge. During the 2025-2026 season, the left-shot rearguard appeared in 23 games with the Czechia U18 club in international play amassing nine points (4g-5a) along with six penalty minutes while also skating in four international contents with the Czechia U17 team. He helped Czechia earn a Bronze medal at the World U18 Championships.<\/p>\n

Sichtar, 18, was picked in the second-round (64th<\/sup> overall) by the \u2018Canes. The Brno, Czechia, product spent the 2025-2026 season with the HC Kometa Brno U20 team where he appeared in 49 regular season games collecting 23 points (8g-15a) along with 20 penalty minutes. He finished sixth in team scoring for the Brno U20 team. Sichtar added four points (1g-3a) along with a plus-3 rating in five post-season games.<\/p>\n

The 6\u20193, 190-pound right-winger was teammates with Byrtus on the Czechia World Under-18 Championship capturing a Bronze medal. Sichtar totalled one goal in seven games during the tournament. He also appeared in 16 games with the Czechia U18 International team amassing five goals. In 2024-2025, Sichtar posted 24 points (12g-12a) along with four penalty minutes in 42 regular season games with the HC Kometa Brno U17 club.<\/p>\n

Vanha, 17, was selected in the third-round (125th<\/sup> overall) by Lethbridge. The Praha, Czechia, product spent the 2025-2026 season with the HC Dynamo Pardubice U17 team racking up 57 points (25g-32a) along with 81 penalty minutes and a plus-39 rating in 32 regular season games. Lethbridge, AB – <\/strong>The Lethbridge Hurricanes Hockey Club are proud to announce that 2008-born forward Logan Stuart was selected by the Washington Capitals in the 2026 National Hockey League Entry Draft.<\/p>\n

Stuart, 18, was drafted in the seventh-round (208th<\/sup> overall) by the Capitals. The Manhatten Beach, California, signed with the Hurricanes in June after spending the last two seasons with the US National Team Development Program. He recorded a combined 45 points (13g-32a) along with 16 penalty minutes in a combined 80 regular season games during the 2025-2026 season. Stuart amassed 15 points (3g-12a) along with a plus-11 rating with the USNTDP U18 team in United States Hockey League competition.<\/p>\n

The 5\u201910, 175-pound forward represented the United States at the 2025 CHL-USA Prospects Challenge where he appeared in three games recording one assist in both Calgary and Lethbridge helping Team USA to their first Prospects Challenge Championship. Stuart skated in 169 regular season games at both the U17 and U18 levels over the last two years, recording 90 points (29g-61a) along with 48 penalty minutes. He was originally selected by the Hurricanes in the second-round (36th<\/sup> overall) in the 2023 WHL US Priority Draft.<\/p>\n

Stuart is the son of former NHL defenceman Brad Stuart, who also spent parts of four seasons in the WHL with the Regina Pats and Calgary Hitmen before spending 18 seasons in the NHL with the San Jose Sharks, Boston Bruins, Calgary Flames, Los Angeles Kings, Detroit Red Wings and Colorado Avalanche. He is also the younger brother of Jake Stuart, whose rights were acquired by the Hurricanes from the Brandon Wheat Kings in May.<\/p>\n

Additionally, Hurricanes prospect Filip Novak was selected in the seventh-round (206th<\/sup> overall) by the Columbus Blue Jackets. It is with profound sadness that the Lethbridge Hurricanes announce the passing of former Governor, President and member of the Board of Directors, Herman Elfring, at the age of 76.<\/p>\n

Elfring spent over 23 seasons with the Hurricanes before retiring from his role following the 2016-2017 season. During his over two decades with the hockey club, Elfring served in many roles including four years as President of the Board of Directors from 1995 to 1999, a stretch of time which saw the Hurricanes capture their lone WHL Championship in 1997. He also spent 21 seasons as the club\u2019s Governor from 1994 until 2017. In his time with the Hurricanes, the team advanced to two WHL Finals (1997, 2008) along with the 2017 Eastern Conference Final. The Hurricanes have named their annual Community Relations Award after Elfring which is awarded to the player who best exemplifies a high commitment and contribution to the Lethbridge community.<\/p>\n

In 2017, Elfring received the WHL\u2019s Distinguished Service Award becoming the 22nd<\/sup> recipient of the Award. The WHL Distinguished Service Award is presented annually to individuals who have worked tirelessly behind the scenes on behalf of franchises and in doing so have made an extraordinary contribution to the Club and League levesl over an extended period of time. Additionally, in 2025, he became the eighth member to be inducted into the Builder’s Category of the Lethbridge Hurricanes Wall of Honour.<\/p>\n

Lethbridge, AB – <\/strong>The Lethbridge Hurricanes Hockey Club have announced the signing of 2008-born forward Logan Stuart to a Western Hockey League Scholarship and Development Agreement.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt means a lot to sign with the Hurricanes, and I couldn\u2019t be more excited,\u201d said Stuart. \u201cI believe coming to Lethbridge is going to be what will prepare me the best for college hockey and beyond. I can\u2019t wait to get things started.\u201d<\/p>\n

Stuart, 18, was originally selected by the Hurricanes in the second-round (36th<\/sup> overall) in the 2023 WHL US Priority Draft. The Manhatten Beach, California, product spent the 2025-2026 season with the US National Team Development Program skating in a combined 80 regular season games amassing 45 points (13g-32a) along with 16 penalty minutes. Stuart amassed 15 points (3g-12a) along with a plus-11 rating with the USNTDP U18 team in United States Hockey League competition. He represented the USA at the 2025 CHL-USA Prospects Challenge where he appeared in three games recording one assist in both Calgary and Lethbridge helping Team USA to their first Prospects Challenge Championship.<\/p>\n

The 5\u201910, 175-pound forward spent two seasons with the US National Development Program appearing in 169 regular season games at both the U17 and U18 levels, recording 90 points (29g-61a) along with 48 penalty minutes. Stuart is ranked 127th<\/sup> overall among North American skaters for the 2026 NHL Entry Draft by the National Hockey League Central Scouting Service. In his WHL draft year, he racked up 68 points (36g-32a) along with six penalty minutes in just 27 regular season games with the Los Angeles Jr. Kings 14U AAA team.<\/p>\n

\u201cHaving a fresh start with a great organization; I\u2019m pumped,\u201d added Stuart. \u201cI\u2019m extremely excited to come to Lethbridge and start a new chapter in the WHL. Stuart is the son of former NHL defenceman Brad Stuart, who also spent parts of four seasons in the WHL with the Regina Pats and Calgary Hitmen. He is also the younger brother of Jake Stuart, whose rights were acquired by the Hurricanes from the Brandon Wheat Kings in May.<\/p>\n

Lethbridge, AB – <\/strong>The Lethbridge Hurricanes Hockey Club has announced the signing of 2008-born forward Dayne Beuker to a Western Hockey League Scholarship and Development Agreement.<\/p>\n

\u201cDayne is a talented player who has competed successfully on the international level, and we are pleased that he has chosen to continue his development with our organization,\u201d said Hurricanes Interim General Manager Barclay Parneta. \u201cWe are also grateful that Dayne and his family have trusted us with the next steps in his development. He brings a strong skill set and character to our group, and we believe he will be an important part of our future.\u201d<\/p>\n

Beuker, 18, was originally drafted by the Hurricanes in the first-round (14th<\/sup> overall) in the 2023 WHL Prospects Draft. The product of Humboldt, Saskatchewan, holds a dual citizenship and has spent the last two seasons with US National Development Program. In 2025-2026, he recorded 61 points (20g-41a) along with 18 penalty minutes in a combined 87 regular season games with the USNTDP U18 program finishing seventh in team scoring. Beuker collected 18 points (6g-12a) along with two penalty minutes and a plus-7 rating in 25 games with USNTDP in United States Hockey League competition. He is ranked 76th<\/sup> among North American skaters by the National Hockey League Central Scouting Service on their Final Rankings for the 2026 NHL Entry Draft.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am really excited to join the Hurricanes. They have a great organization that has produced a lot of high-end players, they have great a coaching staff, management group and an awesome fan base,\u201d said Beuker. \u201cI think Lethbridge is a great place to develop. From the staff, to the facility, to the trainers, they offer it all. Being able to compete against a lot of good players in practice and to play a lot of games, this is a great situation for me to grow as a player.\u201d<\/p>\n

The 5\u201910, 170-pound forward appeared suited up for the USNTDP at the 2025 CHL-USA Prospects Challenge which was held in Calgary and Lethbridge in November. Beuker recorded one goal and four penalty minutes in the three contests. He also represented the United States at the World Under-18 Championships in April where he collected five points (2g-3a) along with a plus-5 rating in five contests finishing fourth in American scoring.<\/p>\n

In two seasons with the USNTDP, Beuker recorded a combined 118 points (38g-80a) along with 36 penalty minutes in 180 regular season games at both the U17 and U18 levels. In his draft year, the right-shot centre racked up 103 points (47g-56a) along with 10 penalty minutes in 30 regular season games with the Humboldt Broncos U15 AA program before amassing a whopping 28 points (11g-17a) and four penalty minutes in nine post-season games leading the Broncos to a SAAHL U15 Championship. In the year after being drafted by Lethbridge, Beuker had a standout 2023-2024 season finishing with 84 points (41g-43a) in 44 regular season games before adding 11 points (4g-7a) in 10 playoff contests. That year, he led the Blazers to a SMAAAHL Championship while leading the league in goals, assists and points. He was also named a SMAAAHL First Team All-Star, the Most Valuable Player, Rookie of the Year and Top Forward as a 15-year-old.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am really looking forward to playing in front of the fans. I played there last year for the CHL-USA Prospects Challenge and it was awesome,\u201d added Beuker. \u201cI know a couple of the guys on the team having played with them growing up. It seems like a great group and I\u2019m excited to get to work with them<\/p>\n

I\u2019m really grateful to get this opportunity to part of the Hurricanes organization, I\u2019m excited to get to play for Matt Anholt, and I\u2019m really excited to get things started with the Hurricanes. I can\u2019t wait for camp; it will be very important for our group to set foundations of ethic, teamwork and play structure.\u201d<\/p>\n

Beuker is the son of WHL alumnus Dean Beuker who spent parts of five seasons in the league with the Tri-City Americans, Portland Winterhawks and Regina Pats before embarking on a four-year career in CIS hockey with the University of Saskatchewan.<\/p>\n
