I\u2019m super excited for training camp, and I just can\u2019t wait to get started and I\u2019m excited to join the Hurricanes; it\u2019s going to be a very exciting season.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Stuart, 19, was acquired by the Hurricanes from the Brandon Wheat Kings in May in a three-team trade. He was \u00a0originally selected second overall by the Wheat Kings in the 2022 WHL US Priority Draft. The Manhatten Beach, California, product has split the 2025-2026 season with the Muskegon Lumberjacks and Sioux Falls Stampede in the United States Hockey League where he collected 16 points (6g-10a) along with 31 penalty minutes in 51 regular season games. He has also tallied one assist in 10 post-season games helping the Stampede capture the USHL Clark Cup Championship. Jake has a commitment to the University of Denver.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJake is a player we&#8217;re excited to welcome to our organization. He&#8217;s a talented player with a strong two-way game, excellent character, and significant upside,\u201d said Hurricanes Interim General Manager Barclay Parneta. \u201cHe also brings valuable experience from a championship program in Sioux Falls, where he learned what it takes to compete and win a championship. We&#8217;re pleased that Jake has chosen to continue his development with the Hurricanes, and the opportunity to see him play alongside his brother Logan makes this an especially exciting addition for our organization.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The 5\u20199, 165-pound forward previously spent two seasons with the US National Team Development Program where he appeared in a combined 132 regular season games collecting 42 points (24g-18a) along with 46 penalty minutes with the NTDP U17 and U18 programs. Last year, Stuart amassed 31 points (17g-14a) along with 36 penalty minutes in 67 regular season games at the U18 level while also recording four penalty minutes with the USNTDP team in the inaugural CHL-USA Prospects Challenge where he appeared in two games. Before his time with the USNTDP, he spent three seasons in the Los Angeles Jr. Kings 15U and 14U programs. In his draft year, Stuart collected an impressive 90 points (50g-40a) along with 36 penalty minutes in 71 regular season games with the Jr. Kings 14U team.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m really excited to be able to go play with my brother [Logan] and [Dayne] Beuker, it\u2019s going to be pretty cool, the last time that we played a full season together, I was 12. Joining my brother, not a lot of people get to do, and I think this is the best option for me and it was a no brainer [to sign],\u201d added Stuart. \u201cMy parents, especially my mom, are really excited to be able to come see us in the same spot, and it\u2019s really cool to be able to play in the same league as my Dad did.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Jake is the older brother of Hurricanes forward and Washington Capitals draft pick Logan Stuart, who signed with the club in June. He is also the son of former WHL and NHL defenceman Brad Stuart, who also spent parts of four seasons in the WHL with the Regina Pats and Calgary Hitmen before spending 18 seasons in the NHL with the San Jose Sharks, Boston Bruins, Calgary Flames, Los Angeles Kings, Detroit Red Wings and Colorado Avalanche.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think next year, I want to be a really consistent player who can be reliable. I\u2019m a really good two-way forward, I take pride on the defensive side of the ice, but I can also contribute offensively. The World Junior Summer Showcase will take place from July 26<sup>th<\/sup> until August 1<sup>st<\/sup> in Windsor, Ontario. The week-long event will include exhibition games between Canada, the United States, Finland and Sweden. The Manhatten Beach, California, product was selected in the 2026 NHL Entry Draft by the Washington Capitals in the seventh-round (208<sup>th<\/sup> overall) and is currently attending the Capitals Development Camp.<\/p>\n<p>The 5\u201910, 175-pound forward signed with the Hurricanes in June after spending the last two seasons with the US National Team Development Program. Stuart recorded a combined 45 points (13g-32a) along with 16 penalty minutes in a combined 80 regular season games during the 2025-2026 season. Stuart amassed 15 points (3g-12a) along with a plus-11 rating with the USNTDP U18 team in United States Hockey League competition.<\/p>\n<p>Stuart has previously represented the United States at the 2025 CHL-USA Prospects Challenge where he appeared in three games recording one assist in both Calgary and Lethbridge helping Team USA to their first Prospects Challenge Championship. Stuart skated in 169 regular season games at both the U17 and U18 levels over the last two years, recording 90 points (29g-61a) along with 48 penalty minutes. He signed with the Hurricanes in June after spending the last two seasons with the US National Team Development Program. He finished as the team-leader in penalty minutes while finishing seventh in the WHL in PIMS. In two seasons with Lethbridge, Lesiuk has appeared in 96 regular season games (10g-9a) along with 128 penalty minutes. The 6\u20194, 216-pound forward was originally selected by the Hurricanes in the second-round (36<sup>th<\/sup> overall) in the 2023 WHL Prospects Draft.<\/p>\n<p>Beuker, 18, will attend the New York Rangers development camp. The Humboldt, Saskatchewan, product signed with the Hurricanes in June after spending the last two seasons with the US National Team Development Program. In 2025-2026, he recorded 61 points (20g-41a) along with 18 penalty minutes in a combined 87 regular season games finishing seventh in team scoring. Beuker collected 18 points (6g-12a) along with two penalty minutes and a plus-7 rating in 25 games with USNTDP in United States Hockey League competition. The 5\u201910, 170-pound forward appeared suited up for the USNTDP at the 2025 CHL-USA Prospects Challenge which was held in Calgary and Lethbridge in November. Beuker recorded one goal and four penalty minutes in the three contests. He also represented the United States at the World Under-18 Championships in April where he collected five points (2g-3a) along with a plus-5 rating in five contests finishing fourth in American scoring. The schedule will consist of 34 home games and 34 road games during the season. Of the 34 home dates, the Hurricanes will play a total of 16 games on Friday\u2019s along with eight Saturday contests and on Sunday contest. Lethbridge will also play two Tuesday and seven Wednesday games during the regular season campaign.<\/p>\n<p>Lethbridge will play a total of 56-games during Eastern Conference opponents, including 32 games against Central Division opponents and 24 games against the East Division. The \u2018Canes will play 12 games against the Western Conference, including six games against the BC Division and six against the US Division. He spent the 2025-2026 season with the HC Ocelari Trinec U20 team where he appeared in 23 regular season games amassing 12 points (4g-8a) along with 16 penalty minutes. He added seven assists along with six penalty minutes and a plus-11 rating in 10 post-season games. Byrtus also appeared in 22 regular season games with the HC Frydek-Mistek in the Czechia2 league collecting two points (1g-1a).<\/p>\n<p>The 5\u201910, 190-pound defenceman represented Czechia at the U17 and U18 levels last year. The Manhatten Beach, California, signed with the Hurricanes in June after spending the last two seasons with the US National Team Development Program. He recorded a combined 45 points (13g-32a) along with 16 penalty minutes in a combined 80 regular season games during the 2025-2026 season. Stuart amassed 15 points (3g-12a) along with a plus-11 rating with the USNTDP U18 team in United States Hockey League competition.<\/p>\n<p>The 5\u201910, 175-pound forward represented the United States at the 2025 CHL-USA Prospects Challenge where he appeared in three games recording one assist in both Calgary and Lethbridge helping Team USA to their first Prospects Challenge Championship. Stuart skated in 169 regular season games at both the U17 and U18 levels over the last two years, recording 90 points (29g-61a) along with 48 penalty minutes. It will mark the first time since the 2022-2023 season that the \u2018Canes will open the season against their Highway-3 rival while marking 24<sup>th<\/sup> time in Lethbridge\u2019s 40-years that they will open against Medicine Hat. The Hurricanes in the previous 23 home openers against the Tigers have posted a record of 13-9-0-1 while having gone 4-1-0-0 in their last five season openers on home ice.<\/p>\n<p>The Dairy Queen Home Opener will be the first of the Hurricanes 68-game regular season schedule for the 2026-2027 season and will be the first of eight head-to-head meetings against Medicine Hat. The \u2018Canes posted an 0-6-2-0 record against the Tigers during the 2025-2026 season, marking the first time the club had gone winless against Medicine Hat in their history during a regular season.<\/p>\n<p>Individual tickets for the Dairy Queen Home Opener and the 2026-2027 40<sup>th<\/sup> Anniversary season will go on sale on Friday, September 11<sup>th<\/sup> at 10:00am. The full regular season schedule will be announced at a later date.<\/p>\n<p>Season Tickets for the 2026-2027 season, which will mark the Hurricanes 40<sup>th<\/sup> Anniversary season in Lethbridge, are now on sale with Loyalty Pricing available until July 2<sup>nd<\/sup> at 5:00pm. During his over two decades with the hockey club, Elfring served in many roles including four years as President of the Board of Directors from 1995 to 1999, a stretch of time which saw the Hurricanes capture their lone WHL Championship in 1997. He also spent 21 seasons as the club\u2019s Governor from 1994 until 2017. In his time with the Hurricanes, the team advanced to two WHL Finals (1997, 2008) along with the 2017 Eastern Conference Final. The Hurricanes have named their annual Community Relations Award after Elfring which is awarded to the player who best exemplifies a high commitment and contribution to the Lethbridge community.<\/p>\n<p>In 2017, Elfring received the WHL\u2019s Distinguished Service Award becoming the 22<sup>nd<\/sup> recipient of the Award. The WHL Distinguished Service Award is presented annually to individuals who have worked tirelessly behind the scenes on behalf of franchises and in doing so have made an extraordinary contribution to the Club and League levesl over an extended period of time. Additionally, in 2025, he became the eighth member to be inducted into the Builder&#8217;s Category of the Lethbridge Hurricanes Wall of Honour.<\/p>\n<p>The entire Lethbridge Hurricanes organization would like to extend its deepest condolences to Herman\u2019s wife Carla, his children, grandchildren, extended family and all of his friends on this tremendous loss.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a I can\u2019t wait to get things started.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Stuart, 18, was originally selected by the Hurricanes in the second-round (36<sup>th<\/sup> overall) in the 2023 WHL US Priority Draft. The Manhatten Beach, California, product spent the 2025-2026 season with the US National Team Development Program skating in a combined 80 regular season games amassing 45 points (13g-32a) along with 16 penalty minutes. Stuart amassed 15 points (3g-12a) along with a plus-11 rating with the USNTDP U18 team in United States Hockey League competition. He represented the USA at the 2025 CHL-USA Prospects Challenge where he appeared in three games recording one assist in both Calgary and Lethbridge helping Team USA to their first Prospects Challenge Championship.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are proud to welcome Logan Stuart and his family to the Hurricanes organization. He is a player we think very highly of, not only because of his ability on the ice, but also because of the character and maturity he brings to the group,\u201d said Hurricanes Interim General Manager Barclay Parneta. \u201cWe are honoured that he has entrusted us with the next stage of his development, and we look forward to supporting him as he pursues his goals. We believe he has all the qualities necessary to be a very important part of our team with immediate impact.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The 5\u201910, 175-pound forward spent two seasons with the US National Development Program appearing in 169 regular season games at both the U17 and U18 levels, recording 90 points (29g-61a) along with 48 penalty minutes. Stuart is ranked 127<sup>th<\/sup> overall among North American skaters for the 2026 NHL Entry Draft by the National Hockey League Central Scouting Service. In his WHL draft year, he racked up 68 points (36g-32a) along with six penalty minutes in just 27 regular season games with the Los Angeles Jr. Kings 14U AAA team.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHaving a fresh start with a great organization; I\u2019m pumped,\u201d added Stuart. \u201cI\u2019m extremely excited to come to Lethbridge and start a new chapter in the WHL. The new opportunity, with new faces, is something I\u2019m really looking forward to, and I can\u2019t wait to meet everyone and get things going.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Stuart is the son of former NHL defenceman Brad Stuart, who also spent parts of four seasons in the WHL with the Regina Pats and Calgary Hitmen.
