Pink in the Rink 2010 Wrap Up!
Lethbridge, AB – The 2nd Annual Hurricanes Pink in the Rink event, held the weekend of November 19th and 20th was a resounding success once again! The event is an opportunity to raise awareness about breast cancer as well as this year, helped raise funds for the Lethbridge chapter of the CIBC Run for the Cure in support of the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.
Through various raffles and contests both nights the volunteers from the CIBC Run for the Cure were able to raise over $3000 for this great cause. Also, the Lethbridge Hurricanes wore specially designed pink jerseys that were auctioned off in a silent auction at both the Friday and Saturday games – The proceeds of which totaled over $5000!
“The Committee for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation CIBC Run for the Cure was extremely proud and pleased to have the opportunity to partner with the Lethbridge Hurricanes for a very successful weekend.” said CIBC Run for the Cure Coordinator Ginny Goulet “Both partners are dedicated to supporting breast cancer research, community development and awareness in southern Alberta.”
