Lethbridge declaws Cougars 7-2
Local product Mark Reners nets a pair in front of a crowd of 4462
rLethbridge, AB – Pincher Creek Native and Hurricanes rookie sniper Mark Reners had a first star performance to lead the Hurricanes to a 7-2 win over the Prince George Cougars on Friday night. The 16 year old Reners notched his first two WHL goals; including the game winner off a pretty feed from Colton Sceviour. Sceviour had a three point (1G,2A) night as did Austin Fyten (1G,2A) while Brennan Yadlowski and Kyle Beach (2G) tallied the other Hurricanes markers. Beach’s highlight reel goal with under a minute left in the game gives him a total of 12 points (9G,3A) in eight games with Lethbridge. Michael Tadjdeh made 32 saves for the win which moves the Canes into fifth in the Eastern Conference with a record of 25-21-2-2.

rNext up, the Canes will head up Highway 2 for a Saturday night match up against the Rebels. It will be the third meeting between these two teams. In their last match-up the Canes blanked the Rebels 5-0. Colton Sceviour, a Red Deer native, had two goals and an assist, while Carter Ashton found the net once and added two assists.
