Canes battle back with 5-2 win

Series shifts to Lethbridge Tuesday and Wednesday – Tickets still available!
rSaskatoon, SK – Finland’s Juha Metsola made his triumphant return from injury but it was Zach Boychuk who led the way with some serious ‘finish’. Boychuk notched his first WHL Playoff hat trick – en route to a four point night; to lead the Hurricanes to a 5-2 win in Game 2 of the Canes WHL Eastern Conference Semi Final presented by Kal Tire and Husky Mohawk. Metsola, who returned to the line up from injury danced his way to a 21 save victory, the 13th WHL Playoff win of his career. Saskatoon native Carter Ashton notched his first WHL Playoff goal for the eventual game winner while Dwight King (1G,1A) added an empty net goal to finish with a two point night.

rThe Hurricanes, the defending Eastern Conference Champions, will now roll out of Saskatoon with the series locked up at 1-1. The series now shifts back to Lethbridge and the friendly confines of the ENMAX Centre on Tuesday (Game 3) and Wednesdayday (Game 4).

rThe Canes are once again urging everyone in the city to bundle up for the “Return of the White Out” on Tuesday, March 24th and Wednesday, March 25th as the Canes take on the Saskatoon Blades in Game Three of their first round 2009 WHL Playoff series. Hurricanes fans are asked to show their colors and wear white to all of the Canes 2009 WHL Playoff home games! All fans dressed in white will be eligible for in game prizing and special discounts. Also, the Hurricanes will be giving away rally towels for the first 4,000 fans in attendance at Tuesday’s game, courtesy of 94.1 The Lounge & Heitman and Associates.

rThe Hurricanes will also be partnering with the Shark Club for Hurricane Alley, when weather permits fans are encouraged to come out to the game early (5:00PM) for burgers and beverages. Logomotives will be supplying the first 150 fans in Hurricane Alley with white t-shirts.
