PLAYOFF GAME DAY: Hurricanes Visit Oil Kings in Game 1
Edmonton, AB – The Lethbridge Hurricanes begin the 2022 WHL Playoffs tonight at 7:00pm at Rogers Place in Game 1 of their best-of-seven first round series against the Edmonton Oil Kings.
The Hurricanes (33-30-4-1) ended the season as the seventh seed in the WHL’s Eastern Conference with 71 points. The ‘Canes ended the regular season on Sunday afternoon with a 3-2 overtime win in Calgary against the Hitmen. Lethbridge finished the regular season on a seven-game point streak while going 7-1-1-0 in their last nine games and 13-6-2-0 in their final 21 contests. The Hurricanes posted a 15-17-2-0 record on the road this season while going 8-2-2-0 in their last dozen away from home.
The Oil Kings (50-14-3-1) finished as the second seed in the Eastern Conference winning their fourth consecutive Central Division title. Edmonton finished the regular season on Saturday with a 3-2 victory in Red Deer against the Rebels. The Oil Kings ended the season with a 6-3-1-0 record in their last ten games while going 10-3-1-0 in their final 14 games – the exact same record as the Hurricanes.
During the regular season series, the Hurricanes posted a 2-5-0-1 record in the eight games, but won the last meeting earning a 5-1 victory in Edmonton on March 27th. Tonight’s game can be watched at Browns Socialhouse in Lethbridge, on WHL Live or heard on 106.7 ROCK.

VS. OIL KINGS: Tonight is Game 1 of the best-of-seven first round playoff series between the Hurricanes and Oil Kings. It is the first time ever the Hurricanes and Oil Kings have met in the WHL Playoffs. Edmonton is the only team in the Eastern Conference that Lethbridge has never faced in the WHL post-season.
