Hurricanes Trim Roster to 23
Lethbridge, AB – The Lethbridge Hurricanes Hockey Club announced Friday that the team has released 2001-born forward Adam Hall while 2002-born forward Jacob Boucher is scheduled for season-ending surgery.
Adam, 18, was originally drafted by the Hurricanes in the eighth round (158th overall) in the 2016 Western Hockey League Bantam Draft. Adam, who is the twin brother of Justin Hall, appeared in 37 regular season games over parts of two seasons with the Hurricanes collecting five points (1g-4a) along with 14 penalty minutes.
“It is unclear where Adam will be continuing his hockey career,” said Hurricanes General Manager, Peter Anholt. “We would like to thank Adam for his time with the Hurricanes and wish home all the best in his future.”
Boucher, 17, suffered a season-ending upper-body injury last Saturday in Medicine Hat against the Tigers. Boucher is scheduled to have surgery on October 3rd and will return home to for rehabilitation and recovery. The former ninth round Bantam Draft selection isn’t expected to play until next season. He appeared in two games this season registering one goal.
“It’s unfortunate for Jacob to have suffered the injury that he did, but we think the best course of action is for surgery and expect him to be ready for next season,” said Anholt.
The moves trims the Hurricanes roster to 23 players, including two goaltenders, seven defenseman and 14 forwards.
