Hurricanes Acquire Draft Picks for Longley
Lethbridge, AB – The Lethbridge Hurricanes Hockey Club have announced the acquisition of a third-round draft pick in 2027 and a fifth-round draft pick in the 2029 Western Hockey League Prospects Draft from the Wenatchee Wild in exchange for overage forward Kayden Longley.
Longley, 20, was originally acquired by the Hurricanes from the Kelowna Rockets in November of 2025. The Wainwright, Alberta, product appeared in 48 regular season games with Lethbridge following the trade which saw him collect 37 points (11g-26a) along with 23 penalty minutes. In total, Longley appeared in a combined 63 games during the 2025-2026 season with the Hurricanes and Rockets setting a career-high with 49 points (16g-33a) along with 27 penalty minutes. He served as an alternate captain for the Hurricanes last season.
The 6’2, 182-pound forward has skated in 184 career WHL regular season games having collected 100 points (35g-65a) along with 50 penalty minutes. Longley has also skated in 11 playoff games amassing two penalty minutes. He was originally selected in the 13th round (281st overall) in the 2021 WHL Prospects Draft.
