GAME DAY: Hurricanes Welcome Warriors in Wednesday Matchup
Lethbridge, AB – The Lethbridge Hurricanes will open a two-game homestand tonight at 7:00pm as they welcome the Moose Jaw Warriors to the ENMAX Centre.
The Hurricanes (24-25-5-0) enter on a seven-game losing streak after suffering a 7-3 loss on Monday afternoon in Red Deer against the Rebels. Kooper Gizowski scored twice while Logan Wormald added the other in the losing cause. Harrison Meneghin made 24-saves before being replaced by Brady Smith who made 10-saves. Lethbridge enters tonight with an 0-5-2-0 record in their last seven games, but are 15-7-5-0 at home this season.
The Warriors (34-18-0-2) enter on a two-game losing streak after dropping a 5-3 decision in Swift Current against the Broncos on Monday. Brayden Schuurman and Owen Berge scored in the loss while Jackson Unger made 22-saves in the game. Moose Jaw enters with a 14-9-0-1 record on the road this year.
Tonight will be the fourth of five meetings on the season between the Hurricanes and Warriors; Lethbridge has posted a 1-2-0-0 record against Moose Jaw with all three games being won by the home team. NHL Ink: Hurricanes defenceman Noah Chadwick signed a three-year entry-level contract with the Toronto Maple Leafs on December 22nd. The Saskatoon, SK, product was a sixth-round (185th overall) selection by the Leafs in the 2023 NHL Draft. He became the first ‘Cane since Dylan Cozens (BUF) to sign an ELC deal. Chadwick has recorded 43 points (9g-34a) in 52 games with the Hurricanes this season. He is seven points shy of becoming the first ‘Canes defenceman to record 50+ points in a season since Alex Cotton (67) and Calen Addison (52) accomplished the feat during the 2019-2020 regular season.
