GAME DAY: Hurricanes Welcome Thunderbirds in Lone Meeting
Lethbridge, AB – The Lethbridge Hurricanes welcome the Seattle Thunderbirds tonight in their lone meeting of the season at 7:00pm at the VisitLethbridge.com Arena.
The Hurricanes (12-26-0-1) enter after a weekend split with the Broncos falling 7-4 in Swift Current on Saturday. Andrew Petruk, Nathan Maloney, Hudson Kibblewhite and Kai Anderson scored in the defeat. Lethbridge was outshot 25-24 in the contest by Swift Current. The ‘Canes enter tonight with a 1-5-0-0 record in their last six games, but have posted a 7-6-0-1 record in their last 14 gams at home.
The Thunderbirds (14-17-2-2) enter on a four-game losing streak after suffering a 5-3 loss on Sunday in Edmonton to the Oil Kings. Sawyer Mayes, Coster Dunn and Antonio Martorana scored in the loss while Marek Sklenicka made 27-saves in the defeat. Seattle was outshot 31-26 by Edmonton in the game. The Thunderbirds enter tonight with a 2-12-0-2 record on the road this season.
Tonight will be the lone meeting of the season between the Hurricanes and Thunderbirds; Lethbridge has posted a 1-0-0-1 record in their last two meetings against Seattle. VS. THUNDERBIRDS: Tonight will be the only meeting of the season between the Hurricanes and Thunderbirds. Last year, the ‘Canes suffered a 5-4 shootout loss to the Thunderbirds in Seattle. Lethbridge has posted a 3-6-3-3 record in the last 15 meetings against Seattle dating back to the 2008-2009 season. The Hurricanes have posted an all-time record of 16-22-5-3 with three ties against the Thunderbirds while going 12-8-2-0 with three ties at home against Seattle.

The Winnipeg, MB product was originally a third-round draft pick by Prince Albert in 2022.
OT Kings: The ‘Canes enter tonight having posted a perfect 5-0 record this season in games decided in overtime after a 4-3 win over the Swift Current Broncos on Friday. Bronze Medalist: Hurricanes forward Mykolas Skadauskas earned a Bronze medal at the World Junior Championship Division II tournament with Lithuania. The overage forward Petruk had appeared in 19 games split between the Langley Rivermen and Vernon Vipers while the 19-year-old Leonard had skated in 24 games with the Prince George Spruce Kings this season. The duo both made their ‘Cane debuts on December 12th against the Saskatoon Blades at SaskTel Centre.
Break Out Season: Luke Cozens enters tonight leading the Hurricanes in goals (17), assists (27) and points (44) having smashed his previous career-high when he recorded 10 points (3g-7a) in 64 games. The former seventh-round draft pick is on pace to collect 30 goals and 78 points this season.
