GAME DAY: Hurricanes Welcome Pats for Final Time
Lethbridge, AB – The Lethbridge Hurricanes welcome the Regina Pats tonight at 7:00pm at the VisitLethbridge.com Arena in the final of a two-game homestand.
The Hurricanes (33-16-2-1) enter after earning a 3-1 victory over the Red Deer Rebels on Wednesday. Kash Andresen, Caden Price and Brayden Yager scored in the win while Koen Cleaver made 30-saves in the win. Lethbridge improved to 14-2-1-0 in their last 17 games. The ‘Canes enter with a 19-5-1-0 record at home this season.
The Pats (14-32-4-2) enter on a three-game losing streak after a 5-2 loss Wednesday in Edmonton to the Oil Kings. Jace Egland and Keets Fawcett scored in the loss while Ewan Huet made 42 saves. Regina enters tonight with a 6-18-3-0 record on the road this season having lost seven straight road games.
Tonight will be the third of four meetings on the season between the Hurricanes and Pats; Lethbridge has posted a 2-0-0-0 record so far this year. VS. PATS: Tonight will be the third of four meetings on the season between the Hurricanes and Pats. Lethbridge has posted a 2-0-0-0 record against Regina this season after going 2-2-0-0 against the Pats last year. He is the third highest scoring active player in the WHL trailing Andrew Cristall and Riley Heidt. His 312 points ranks him tied for 139th all-time in WHL scoring with Dan Bonar (BRD) and Zac Boyer (KAM).
30 Again: The Hurricanes earned their 30th victory of the season on February 2nd with a 4-3 victory in Calgary. It marked the ninth-straight season that the ‘Canes have reached the 30-win plateau adding to their team record for consecutive 30-win seasons. The previous long was five-straight seasons from 1989-90 until 1993-94. Lethbridge is on pace for 43 wins this season which would be the seventh most in team history.
