GAME DAY: Hurricanes Visit Rebels for Final Time
Lethbridge, AB – The Lethbridge Hurricanes open a two-game road tonight at 7:00pm as they visit the Red Deer Rebels at the Peavey Mart Centrium for the final time this season.
The Hurricanes (31-16-1-1) enter on a two-game winning streak after earning a 6-1 victory over the Prince Albert Raiders on Friday. Six different goal scorers lit the lamp in the win while Jackson Unger made 17-saves. Brayden Yager led the Hurricanes with five points (1g-4a) in the contest. The ‘Canes enter tonight on an eight-game road winning streak and sit with a 13-11-0-1 record on the road this year.
The Rebels (19-25-4-2) enter on a three-game winning streak after a 4-2 victory over the Moose Jaw Warriors on Friday at home. Samuel Drancak, Gleb Semenov, Kalan Lind and Ollie Josephson scored in the win while Peyton Shore made 18-saves in the victory. Red Deer enters tonight with a 12-7-3-0 record at home this season.

VS. REBELS: Tonight will be the seventh of eight meetings during the regular season between the Hurricanes and the Rebels. The Hurricanes are 5-1-0-0 against the Rebels this season after going 4-2-0-0 against Red Deer in 2023-2024. In the last 63 regular season games dating back to February of 2015, the Hurricanes have posted a 44-15-4-1 record against the Rebels. 300 Club: On February 2nd in Calgary, Brayden Yager reached the 300-point mark in his WHL career with his fourth career hat-trick. The Winnipeg Jets prospect became the 170th player in WHL history to reach the 300-point plateau having amassed 306 points (123g-183a) in 247 career games. He is the third highest scoring active player in the WHL trailing Andrew Cristall and Riley Heidt.
30 Again: The Hurricanes earned their 30th victory of the season on February 2nd with a 4-3 victory in Calgary. It marked the ninth-straight season that the ‘Canes have reached the 30-win plateau adding to their team record for consecutive 30-win seasons. The previous long was five-straight seasons from 1989-90 until 1993-94. Lethbridge is on pace for 43 wins this season which would be the seventh most in team history.
20+ Back-to-Back: Overage forward Brayden Edwards scored his 20th goal of the season on January 26th in Edmonton marking the second straight season he has scored 20-or-more goals in two straight seasons after recording 31 goals in 2023-2024. He became the first ‘Cane to score 20+ goals in consecutive seasons since Jett Jones in 2021-2022 (20 goals) and 2022-2023 (21 goals). Dylan Cozens (34 in 2018-2019, 38 in 2019-2020) was the last Hurricane to score 30+ goals in back-to-back seasons.
Stingy D: The Hurricanes enter play tonight as the second-best defensive team in the entire WHL allowing just 2.79 goals against per game, trailing Everett who ranks first (2.67 GAPG).
