GAME DAY: Hurricanes Visit Oil Kings in Matinee
Edmonton, AB – The Lethbridge Hurricanes visit the Edmonton Oil Kings this afternoon at 2:00pm at Rogers Place in their first meeting since November.
The Hurricanes (34-13-2-5) enter having had their five-game winning streak snapped on Saturday with a 5-2 loss to the Winnipeg ICE at the ENMAX Centre. Ty Nash and Alex Thacker scored in the defeat. Lethbridge enters today’s game sitting second in the Central Division, six points back of the Oil Kings for first, while owning the WHL’s best road record of 19-7-0-1 on the season.
The Oil Kings (36-9-6-3) earned a 5-2 victory over the Medicine Hat Tigers on Saturday at Rogers Place. Dylan Guenther led the way for the Oil Kings with a three point effort, including a goal and two assists. Edmonton enters tonight with a 21-4-2-1 record on home ice this season as they have the second most home victories this season.
Today will be the third meeting of the season between the Hurricanes and the Oil Kings; Lethbridge has won both games so far this season.
