GAME DAY: Hurricanes Visit Hitmen in Matinee Match
Lethbridge, AB – The Lethbridge Hurricanes will look for their 30th victory of the season this afternoon at 2:00pm as they visit the Calgary Hitmen at the Scotiabank Saddledome.
The Hurricanes (29-16-1-1) enter after suffering a 2-0 loss on Saturday to the Edmonton Oil Kings at the VisitLethbridge.com Arena. It marked the third time this season that the ‘Canes were blanked despite outshooting the Oil Kings 35-17 in the game. Lethbridge enters tonight with a record of 12-11-0-1 on the road having won their last seven road contests.
The Hitmen (30-12-3-2) enter on a six-game winning streak after a 5-2 victory in Edmonton on Friday. Ben Kindel scored twice while Connor Hvidston, Carson Wetsch and Ethan Moore scored the others; Daniel Hauser made 29-saves in the win. Calgary has outscored the opposition 17-3 in their last three games. The Hitmen have posted an 18-3-1-1 record at home this season.
Tonight will be the sixth of eight meetings on the season between the Hurricanes and Hitmen; Lethbridge has posted a 1-4-0-0 record in the previous five contests. The game can be streamed on WHL Live, watched at Browns Socialhouse in Lethbridge or heard on 106.7 ROCK.

Stingy D: The Hurricanes enter play tonight as the second-best defensive team in the entire WHL allowing just 2.82 goals against per game, trailing Everett who ranks first (2.48 GAPG). They have amassed 738 shots in that span averaging 32.1 shots in that span having registered 35+ shots in eight of their last 12 games. Lethbridge is 20-6-0-0 when outshooting the opposition.
Penalty Killed: In their last 26 games, Lethbridge has allowed the opposition just 11 power play goals with the ‘Canes going 80/91 for a kill percentage of 87.9% in that span.
