GAME DAY: Hurricanes Visit Broncos in First of Two Straight in Swift Current
Lethbridge, AB – The Lethbridge Hurricanes will look to end a two-game losing streak tonight at 7:00pm when they visit the Swift Current Broncos at the Innovation Credit Union i-Plex.
The Hurricanes (4-7-0-0) suffered a 2-1 loss on Friday to the hands of the Brandon Wheat Kings at the ENMAX Centre. It was the ‘Canes second-straight one-goal loss while their fourth straight one-goal game. Harrison Meneghin made 19-saves in the game while Joe Arntsen scored the lone goal. Lethbridge enters play tonight with a 2-4-0-0 record away from home this season.
The Broncos (2-6-0-0) were idle on Friday having last played last Saturday when they dropped a 4-3 decision to the Red Deer Rebels. Caleb Wyrostok, Josh Filmon and Raphael Pelletier scored in the loss while Gage Alexander made 30-saves. Swift Current has also played in four-straight one-goal games going 1-3-0-0 in those four contests. The Broncos are 1-4-0-0 on home ice this season.
Tonight will be the first of seven head-to-head meetings on the season between the Hurricanes and Broncos. Last year, Lethbridge posted a 2-6-0-0 record in eight games while going 0-4-0-0 in Swift Current. Canada Calling: Hurricanes rookies Miguel Marques and Tristen Doyle, along with assistant coach Ryan Aasman have been named to represent Canada at the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge. Marques and Doyle will represent Canada White while Aasman will be a video coach for Canada Red. The tournament will take place from November 3-12 at the Langley Events Centre.
Homemade Pickles: Goaltender Jared Picklyk, who is in his second full season with the Hurricanes, enters tonight with a 2-4-0-0 record. The Kelowna, BC, product has been strong in his three home games this season having gone 2-1-0-0 with a 2.70 goals against average and a .904 saves percentage at the ENMAX Centre. Picklyk made 26-saves in a 3-2 loss to the Blades on Wednesday.
Clutch Cutch: Third year defenceman Logan McCutcheon enters tonight having collected five assists on the season and sits as the team leader in points. He is on pace for 34 points on the season. McCutcheon had a career-high 28 points last season for the ‘Canes finishing second in team defenceman scoring.

Search for 250: Hurricanes head coach Brent Kisio sits just 11 victories shy of the 250-win plateau in his career. Kisio sits with a record of 240-161-38 in eight seasons behind the ‘Canes bench and is the winningest coach in Hurricanes history.
