GAME DAY: Hurricanes Put Win Streak on the Line Against Wheat Kings
Lethbridge, AB – The Lethbridge Hurricanes will look to extend their winning streak as they welcome the Brandon Wheat Kings to the ENMAX Centre tonight at 7:00pm.
The Hurricanes (29-26-5-0) enter on a season-long four-game winning streak after earning a 5-1 win over the Medicine Hat Tigers on Wednesday. Logan Wormald scored twice while Leo Braillard, Dylan Sydor and Carter Dereniwsky scored the others; Harrison Meneghin made 22-saves in the victory. Lethbridge enters with a 5-1-0-0 record in their last six games and are 17-8-5-0 at home this season. The ‘Canes sit seventh in the Eastern Conference standings.
The Wheat Kings (29-26-6-1) have lost their last five games after suffering a 3-2 overtime loss last night in Calgary to the Hitmen. Jayden Wiens and Nolan Flamand scored in the loss while Carson Bjarnason made 29-saves in the setback. Brandon enters with a 9-16-4-1 record on the road this season as they sit sixth place in the Eastern Conference.
Tonight will be the final meeting of the season between the Hurricanes and Wheat Kings; Lethbridge has posted an 0-2-1-0 record in the previous three meetings having been outscored 11-1 in the three contests.
