GAME DAY: Hurricanes Put Win Streak On Line Against Oil Kings
Lethbridge, AB – The Lethbridge Hurricanes put a two-game winning streak on the line tonight as they welcome the Edmonton Oil Kings at 7:00pm at the ENMAX Centre in the first of two meetings this weekend.
The Hurricanes (26-28-3-1) enter after back-to-back wins against the Red Deer Rebels last weekend. The ‘Canes are coming off a come-from-behind 3-2 shootout victory in Red Deer on Saturday. Yegor Klavdiev and Tyson Laventure scored in regulation while Briley Wood scored the shootout winner. Bryan Thomson made 35-saves in the game while stopping nine shooters in the shootout. Lethbridge enters play tonight 14-11-2-1 on the season.
The Oil Kings (45-12-2-1) are coming off a 4-1 victory over the Calgary Hitmen last Friday. Dylan Guenther scored twice while Jalen Luypen and Luke Prokop added the other goals in the win. Kolby Hay made 21-saves in the victory for his 14th win of the season. Edmonton enters having posted a 15-1-0-0 record in their last 16 games while having posted a 17-9-2-1 record away from home.
Tonight will be the seventh of eight meetings on the season between the Hurricanes and Oil Kings; Lethbridge has posted a 1-4-1-0 record in the previous six meetings, including going 1-1-1-0 at home against Edmonton.
