GAME DAY: Hurricanes Pitstop at Home to Host Silvertips
Lethbridge, AB – The Lethbridge Hurricanes return to the VisitLethbridge.com Arena tonight at 7:00pm as they welcome the WHL-leading Everett Silvertips in their lone meeting of the year.
The Hurricanes (16-35-0-1) enter after ending a 12-game road losing streak last Saturday with a 4-2 win over the Saskatoon Blades at SaskTel Centre. Owen Berge scored twice while Hudson Kibblewhite and Gavin Lesiuk added the other goals in the win; Koen Cleaver made 33-saves in the victory. Lethbridge enters tonight with a 4-2-0-0 record in their last six games while having posted a 10-15-0-1 record at home this year.
The Silvertips (43-6-2-1) enter on an 11-game winning streak after a 4-0 shutout victory over the Edmonton Oil Kings on Wednesday at Rogers Place. Matias Vanhanen, Rylan Gould, Zackary Shantz and Jaxsin Vaughan scored in the win while Anders Miller made 18-saves for his third shutout of the season. Everett enters with a league-best 21-3-0-0 record on the road this season as they lead the entire Canadian Hockey League with 89 points this year.
Tonight will be the first and only meeting of the season between the Hurricanes and Silvertips; Lethbridge has posted a record of 2-8-1-0 in their last 11-games against Everett. VS. SILVERTIPS: Tonight will be the only meeting of the season between the Hurricanes and Silvertips. Lethbridge was downed 4-0 in their only meeting last year in Everett at Angel of the Winds Arena. The Hurricanes have lost the last six meetings against the Silvertips dating back to the 2017-2018 season while having gone 2-8-1-0 in their last 11 head-to-head matchups. Lethbridge has posted an all-time record of 7-11-1-0 with one tie against Everett while having gone 5-5-0-0 in ten games at home against the ‘Tips.

33-16-2-1 record after 52 games. The ‘Canes are 1-1-0-0 in the month of February after going 4-9-0-0 record in the month of January. Lethbridge is on pace to record 21 victories this year.
Berge Burying: Hurricanes 19-year-old forward Owen Berge enters tonight red hot of late. The Edmonton, AB, product enters coming off a two-goal performance last Saturday in Saskatoon against the Blades marking his third multi-goal game of the season. Berge has racked up seven goals in his last five games while having collected eight goals in his last seven outings. Since joining the ‘Canes, he has recorded 29 points (17g-12a) in 37 games. He’s on pace for 25 goals and 46 points this season.
Put It in the Win Column: Entering tonight, the Hurricanes have posted a winning record in their last six games having gone 4-2-0-0 in that span after a 4-2 win in Saskatoon last Saturday. The streak also includes the ‘Canes only three-game winning streak of the season and first since February of 2025. Lethbridge has posted a 3-1-0-0 record in their previous four home games as well.
Surging Special Teams: Lethbridge’s special teams have been strong of late. The ‘Canes power play has gone 15-for-42 (35.7%) over their last 12 games having scored at least one power play goal in nine of those 12 games. New Leadership Group: The ‘Canes announced a new leadership group for the remainder of the 2025-2026 season following the WHL Trade Deadline. Owen Berge, Kayden Longley, Carsen Adair and Hudson Kibblewhite will serve as Alternate Captains for the rest of the season while Lethbridge will go without a Captain for the rest of the season.
Midterm Ranked: Three Hurricanes players were ranked by NHL Central Scouting on the Midterm Rankings on January 12th. Kyle Heger (67th), Gavin Lesiuk (177th) and Nathan Maloney (220th) were all ranked among North American skaters. Of the three, Maloney was the lone player not ranked by Central Scouting on the Preliminary Players to Watch List in October.
