GAME DAY: Hurricanes Open Home-and-Home Weekend with Tigers
Lethbridge, AB – The Lethbridge Hurricanes play the second of a two-game homestand as they welcome the Medicine Hat Tigers at 7:00pm at the VisitLethbridge.com Arena.
The Hurricanes (17-43-2-1) enter on a five-game losing streak after suffering a 4-2 loss to the Regina Pats on Wednesday. Kade Duell and Tyden Lafournaise scored in the defeat while Leif Oaten made 21-saves. Lethbridge was outshot 25-21 by Regina in the game. The ‘Canes enter tonight with a 1-8-2-0 record in their last 11 games while sitting with an 11-19-0-1 record at home this year.
The Tigers (46-10-5-3) enter with a 9-1-0-0 record in their previous 10 games after earning a convincing 6-0 victory over the Regina Pats on Tuesday. Liam Ruck and Carter Cunningham each scored twice while Jonas Woo and Noah Davidson added the others in the victory; Carter Casey made 16-saves for his second shutout of the season. Medicine Hat enters with a 20-7-3-2 record on the road this season.
Tonight will be the seventh of eight meetings on the season between the Hurricanes and Tigers; Lethbridge has posted an 0-5-1-0 record against Medicine Hat this season. Streak Snapped: Following a loss to the Moose Jaw Warriors on March 7th, the Hurricanes were officially eliminated from contention for the 2026 WHL Playoffs. It marks the first time since the 2014-2015 season that the ‘Canes will not qualify for the post-season, ending a stretch of nine straight seasons booking a ticket to the WHL Playoffs. The streak of nine-straight years in the playoffs was a franchise record for the ‘Canes.

The most PIMS in a single season since the new rules in 2006-2007 was recorded by Cason Machacek in 2010-2011 when he racked up 183 PIMS while the all-time single-season record is held by Brantt Myhres who had 359 penalty minutes in the 1991-1992 season.
Berge Burying: Hurricanes 19-year-old forward Owen Berge enters tonight having racked up 12 goals in his last 18 games – a 45-goal pace over a full 68-game schedule. The Edmonton, AB, product leads the ‘Canes with 22 goals this year while sitting second in points with 44. Since joining the Hurricanes, Berge has collected 39 points (21g-18a) in 48 games. He was acquired for an eighth-round pick in October.
Surging Special Teams: Lethbridge’s special teams have been better of late. The ‘Canes power play has gone 21-for-84 (25.0%) in their last 23 games while having gone 4-for-19 (21.1%) in their last five contests.
