GAME DAY: Hurricanes Look to Sweep Trip Against High-Flying Chiefs
Spokane, WA – The Lethbridge Hurricanes will end a five-game road trip tonight at 7:00pm MT as they visit the Spokane Chiefs at the Spokane Arena.
The Hurricanes (25-14-1-1) enter on a season-long six-game winning streak after earning a 4-2 win over the Wenatchee Wild on Friday night. Leo Braillard scored twice while Brayden Edwards and Logan Wormald added the others in the win; Koen Cleaver made 18-saves in the contest. Lethbridge improved to 6-1-0-0 in their last seven road games while improving to 13-4-0-0 in their last 17 games. The ‘Canes are 10-11-0-1 on the road this season.
The Chiefs (29-14-0-0) enter on a three-game winning streak after a 5-2 victory over the Prince George Cougars on Friday at the Spokane Arena. Will McIsaac, Chase Harrington, Berkly Catton, Shea Van Olm and Coco Armstrong scored in the win while Dawson Cowan made 22-saves in the victory. Spokane enters with a 7-3-0-0 record in their last ten games while they’ve outscored the opposition 27-4 in their last three games. The Chiefs are 15-4-0-0 at home this year.
Tonight will be the only meeting of the season between the Hurricanes and Chiefs; Lethbridge has won the last two head-to-head meetings, including a 3-0 win in Spokane on December 3rd, 2022 in their last visit. VS. CHIEFS: Tonight will be the only meeting of the season between the Hurricanes and Chiefs. Last year, Lethbridge earned a 3-2 overtime win over Spokane at the VisitLethbridge.com Arena marking the second straight win against the Chiefs. The ‘Canes have gone 17-24-0-0 with seven ties all-time against the Chiefs while going 6-14-0-0 with three ties all-time in Spokane. Lethbridge is 4-3-0-0 in their las seven games against the Chiefs.

Road Trippin’: The ‘Canes are currently on a five-game road trip that will span nine days. On the trip, the Hurricanes have faced Swift Current, Moose Jaw, Tri-City and Wenatchee and will end their trek in Spokane against the Chiefs. Clutch Up: On January 15th, Logan Wormald completed his first career hat-trick with an overtime winner in a 3-2 win over the Tri-City Americans. The goal was his fourth career overtime winning goal which ranks second all-time in ‘Canes history, trailing Nathan Barrett who had five. Wormald has nine game-winning goals this season which is second most in a single season in the internet era for the Hurricanes behind Tyler Wong (10 – 2016-2017).
CSS Ranked: Koen Cleaver was ranked 16th among North American goaltenders by the NHL Central Scouting Service on their Midterm Rankings for the 2025 NHL Entry Draft. Price is Right: On January 6th, the Hurricanes announced the acquisition of 2005-born defenceman Caden Price from the Kelowna Rockets in exchange for 2007-born defenceman Will Sharpe, the rights to 2007-born goaltender Harrison Boettiger and five draft picks, including a first-round pick in 2026. The Seattle Kraken third-round pick represented Canada at the 2025 World Junior Championship in Ottawa. He made his ‘Canes debut on January 10th in a 2-1 overtime win in Swift Current.
Unger Stellar: Jackson Unger has been outstanding since joining the Hurricanes. In his 10 decisions, the Calgary, AB, product has posted a 10-1-0-0 record with a 2.12 GAA and a .923 SV% while going a perfect
