GAME DAY: Hurricanes Look to End Losing Streak Against Raiders
Lethbridge, AB – The Lethbridge Hurricanes will look to end a five-game losing streak as they welcome the Prince Albert Raiders at 6:00pm at the ENMAX Centre.
The Hurricanes (24-24-4-0) enter having dropped their last five games after suffering a 1-0 overtime loss on Friday to the Saskatoon Blades at home. Brady Smith made 33-saves in the loss which was the sixth shutout defeat for the Hurricanes this season. Lethbridge enters tonight with a 15-7-4-0 record at the ENMAX Centre this year having posted a 7-1-2-0 record in their last ten games at home.
The Raiders (25-25-1-3) earned their second-straight victory on Friday with a 2-1 shootout win in Medicine Hat against the Tigers. Oli Chenier scored the lone goal in regulation before Sloan Stanick potted the shootout winner. Max Hildebrand made 26-saves in the win. Prince Albert enters tonight with a 11-17-1-1 record on the road after ending a 10-game road losing streak on Friday.
Tonight will be third of four meetings on the season between the Hurricanes and Raiders; Lethbridge has posted an 0-2-0-0 record in the first two matchups against Prince Albert, including a 3-0 setback last Wednesday. NHL Ink: Hurricanes defenceman Noah Chadwick signed a three-year entry-level contract with the Toronto Maple Leafs on December 22nd. The Saskatoon, SK, product was a sixth-round (185th overall) selection by the Leafs in the 2023 NHL Draft. He became the first ‘Cane since Dylan Cozens (BUF) to sign an ELC deal. Chadwick has recorded 43 points (9g-34a) in 50 games with the Hurricanes this season. He is seven points shy of becoming the first ‘Canes defenceman to record 50+ points in a season since Alex Cotton (67) and Calen Addison (52) accomplished the feat during the 2019-2020 regular season.
