GAME DAY: Hurricanes Host Wild for Canadian Tire Teddy & Toque Toss
Lethbridge, AB – The Lethbridge Hurricanes welcome the Wenatchee Wild tonight at 7:00pm at the VisitLethbridge.com Arena for the 29th annual Canadian Tire Teddy & Toque Toss.
The Hurricanes (9-18-0-1) enter after suffering a 5-1 loss to the Red Deer Rebels on Wednesday. Easton Daneault scored the lone goal in the game while Koen Cleaver made 29-saves in the defeat. Lethbridge was outshot 34-20 by Red Deer in the contest. The ‘Canes enter tonight with a 4-3-0-1 record in their last eight home games while having gone 1-1-0-0 through two games of their current four-game homestand.
The Wild (9-13-1-1) enter with two-straight victories after dismantling the Swift Current Broncos 7-2 on Tuesday at home. Seven different goal scorers lit the lamp in the win while Cal Conway made 33-saves for the victory. Wenatchee outshot Swift Current 50-35 in the game. The Wild enter tonight with a 1-8-0-1 record this season while having gone 5-5-0-0 in their last ten games.
Tonight will be the only meeting of the season between the Hurricanes and Wild; Lethbridge has posted an all-time record of 2-0-0-0 against Wenatchee. VS. WILD: Tonight will be the only meeting of the season between the Hurricanes and Wild. Last year, the Hurricanes earned a 4-2 victory over the Wild in their lone contest. Lethbridge has posted an all-time 2-0-0-0 record against Wenatchee. The ‘Canes have posted an all-time record of 83-76-5-3 with six ties against the ICE/Wild franchise dating back to their time in Winnipeg, Kootenay and Edmonton. Road Trip Wrap: Lethbridge ended a season-long seven-game road trip last Friday with a 6-2 loss in Prince George to the Cougars. The Hurricanes ended their trip with a 3-4-0-0 record while posting a 3-3-0-0 record through six games in British Columbia. In total, the ‘Canes traveled over 5,000 kilometres on their 13-day road trip which is a longer distance than traveling from Los Angeles to New York City.
November Reflections: The Hurricanes ended their 11-game month of November with a 6-5-0-0 record ending the month with a 6-3 win over the Moose Jaw Warriors on November 28th. The ‘Canes posted a record of 3-1-0-0 at home and a 3-4-0-0 record on the road during the month. Lethbridge averaged 3.82 goals per game during the month which is a 0.61 goals per game increase from their season average.
Big Trade: On November 9th, the Hurricanes acquired 2006-born forward Kayden Longley, prospect Grayson Bauer along with five draft picks including a conditional first-round pick in 2026 from the Kelowna Rockets in exchange for overage forward Shane Smith and the WHL rights to 2007-born import forward Vojtech Cihar. He made his ‘Canes debut on November 12th in Penticton; since joining the Hurricanes, Longley has collected six points (1g-5a) in seven games.
