GAME DAY: Hurricanes End Homestand Tonight Against Broncos
Lethbridge, AB – The Lethbridge Hurricanes will end a two-game homestand tonight when they welcome the Swift Current Broncos at 7:00pm at the VisitLethbridge.com Arena.
The Hurricanes (16-39-2-1) enter on a six-game losing streak after a 7-2 loss on Wednesday to the Moose Jaw Warriors. Kade Duell and Easton Daneault scored in the loss while Koen Cleaver made 23-saves. Shots were 30-30 in the game as the ‘Canes went 0/3 on the power play. The Hurricanes enter tonight with a 10-18-0-1 record on home ice while having gone 3-3-0-0 in their last six games at home.
The Broncos (13-38-3-3) enter on a six-game losing streak of their own after a 3-1 defeat to the Penticton Vees on Tuesday at InnovationPlex. Marek Rocak scored the lone goal in the defeat while Aiden Eskit made 36-saves in the defeat. Swift Current was outshot 39-12 in the game by Penticton. The Broncos enter tonight with a 3-22-1-2 on the road this season.
Tonight will be the final of four meetings on the season between the Hurricanes and Broncos; Lethbridge has posted a record of 1-2-0-0 against Swift Current this year. Midterm Ranked: Three Hurricanes players were ranked by NHL Central Scouting on the Midterm Rankings on January 12th. Kyle Heger (67th), Gavin Lesiuk (177th) and Nathan Maloney (220th) were all ranked among North American skaters. Of the three, Maloney was the lone player not ranked by Central Scouting on the Preliminary Players to Watch List in October.
