GAME DAY: Hurricanes End Homestand Against Wheat Kings
Lethbridge, AB – The Lethbridge Hurricanes will end a four-game homestand tonight at 7:00pm as they welcome the Brandon Wheat Kings to the VisitLethbridge.com Arena.
The Hurricanes (4-13-0-1) enter with a 1-2-0-0 record on their homestand after falling 2-1 to the Prince Albert Raiders on Wednesday. Shane Smith scored the lone goal for the ‘Canes while Koen Cleaver made 27-saves in the loss. Lethbridge was outshot 29-26 in the contest by Prince Albert. The Hurricanes enter tonight with a 2-7-0-1 record on home ice this year while having gone 0-5-0-0 against East Division opponents.
The Wheat Kings (7-7-1-0) enter with a 7-3-0-0 record in their last ten games after earning a 9-4 victory over the Swift Current Broncos on Wednesday. Jaxon Jacobson, Joby Baumuller and Cameron Allard all scored twice while Carter Klippenstein, Nicholas Johnson and Jimmy Egan added the others; Filip Ruzicka made 27-saves in the win. Brandon enters with a record of 5-1-0-0 record in their last six games.
Tonight will be the second of four meetings on the season between the Hurricanes and Wheat Kings; Lethbridge has posted an 0-1-0-0 record against Brandon this year after going 3-0-0-1 against the Wheat Kings last year. Canada Calling: Leif Oaten is currently attending the 2025 Under-17 World Challenge. He was named to the Canada Red for the tournament. Oaten becomes the first Hurricanes player to attend the U17 tournament since 2023 when Koen Cleaver and Will Sharpe appeared for Canada White.
