GAME DAY: Hurricanes End February with Final Visit to Edmonton
Lethbridge, AB – The Lethbridge Hurricanes will make their final of four trips to Edmonton to face the Oil Kings at 7:00pm tonight at Rogers Place.
The Hurricanes (17-39-2-1) enter after ending a six-game losing streak with a 6-0 shutout victory over the Swift Current Broncos on Friday night at the VisitLethbridge.com Arena. Leif Oaten made 21-saves for his first WHL shutout while Kyle Heger scored twice; Grady Pichette, Owen Berge, Kayden Longley and Hudson Kibblewhite added the others in the victory. Lethbridge improved to 5-6-2-0 in their last 13 games with the win. The ‘Canes enter tonight with a 6-21-2-0 record on the road this year.
The Oil Kings (37-16-3-2) enter after earning a 2-0 shutout victory in Red Deer over the Rebels on Friday at Marchant Crane Centrium. Lukas Sawchyn and Ethan MacKenzie scored in the win while Parker Snell made 34-saves for the shutout. Red Deer outshot Edmonton 34-23 in the game. The Oil Kings enter tonight with a 5-5-0-0 record in their last ten games while having posted a 17-5-2-2 record at Rogers Place this season.
Tonight will be the seventh of eight meetings on the season between the Hurricanes and Oil Kings; Lethbridge has posted a 1-5-0-0 record in the six previous meetings against Edmonton this year. The game can be streamed on Victory+, watched at Browns Socialhouse in Lethbridge or heard on 106.7 ROCK.

Midterm Ranked: Three Hurricanes players were ranked by NHL Central Scouting on the Midterm Rankings on January 12th. Kyle Heger (67th), Gavin Lesiuk (177th) and Nathan Maloney (220th) were all ranked among North American skaters. Of the three, Maloney was the lone player not ranked by Central Scouting on the Preliminary Players to Watch List in October.
