41st Annual General Meeting Recap
Lethbridge, AB – The Lethbridge Hurricanes Hockey Club held their 41st Annual General Meeting of the Shareholders on Monday evening in the National Bank Lounge at the VisitLethbridge.com Arena.
Below are the highlights from the meeting:
Business Operations:
- Appointed Dylan Thornborough as the new General Manager of Business Operations following the resignation of Terry Huisman in May
- The Hurricanes saw a profit of $18,520 during the 2025-2026 campaign
- Advertising revenue finished 15% over budget
- Overall revenue finished 6% over budget
- Average attendance was 3,553 fans during the 2025-2026 season
- Season Ticket base for the 2026-2027 season has seen a 97% renewal rate (pro-rated tickets still available)
- Hosted 2025 CHL-USA Prospects Challenge game
- Saw Video Content Coordinator Keegan McDowell accept position with the NHL’s Edmonton Oilers
Hockey Operations:
- Appointed Barclay Parneta as the new General Manager of Hockey Operations following the resignation of Peter Anholt in January
- Signed Dayne Beuker and Logan Stuart from the US National Team Development Program
- Acquired and signed Jake Stuart from the United States Hockey League
- Drafted and signed their Top 3 picks from 2026 WHL Prospects Draft including Artello Forestal, Ronan Gow and Evan Cuthbertson to WHL Scholarship & Development Agreements
- Selected Dominick Byrtus, Oliver Sichtar and Oliver Vanha in the 2026 CHL Import Draft; Byrtus and Vanha represented Czechia at 2026 Hlinka Gretzky Cup
- Matt Anholt and Ryan Aasman served on coaching staff for Hockey Canada at the 2026 World U18 Championships in Slovakia
- Leif Oaten captured Gold Medal with Hockey Canada at the 2026 Hlinka Gretzky Cup
- Four players attended National Hockey League Rookie Camp, including Gavin Lesiuk (WSH), Logan Stuart (WSH), Dayne Beuker (NYR) and Kyle Heger (EDM)
- Updated and renovated Player’s Lounge and added a shooting cage
Board of Directors:
- The Hurricanes Board of Directors remain in full with the re-election of the following members to three-year terms: Roger Simpson, Blayne Janssens and Suketu Shah
- Elected the following new Board Members to three-year terms: Blair Sanderson and Kip Krogman
- There were no nominations from the floor
- Accepted the end of term for long-term Board Members Bill Reddick and Cindy Crane
