GAME DAY: Hurricanes Open Homestand Against Oil Kings
Lethbridge, AB – The Lethbridge Hurricanes open a four-game homestand tonight as they welcome the Edmonton Oil Kings at 7:00pm to the VisitLethbridge.com Arena.
The Hurricanes (3-11-0-1) enters on a three-game losing streak after dropping all three games on an East Division road trip. Lethbridge suffered a 7-0 loss to the Brandon Wheat Kings on Saturday in the trip finale at Assiniboine Credit Union Place. It marked the second time this season that the ‘Canes were shutout as Leif Oaten made 28-saves. Lethbridge enters tonight with a 1-5-0-1 record at home this year as the Hurricanes sit last in the Eastern Conference.
The Oil Kings (9-4-1-1) enter on a four-game losing streak having gone 0-2-1-1 in that span. Edmonton is coming off a 3-2 loss to the Calgary Hitmen on Sunday afternoon at Rogers Place. Andrew O’Neill and Poul Andersen scored in the defeat while Ethan Simcoe made 21-saves in the setback. The Oil Kings enter tonight with a 5-3-0-0 record on the road this year.
Tonight will be the second of eight meetings on the season between the Hurricanes and Oil Kings; Lethbridge has posted an 0-1-0-0 record against Edmonton so far this season.
