Hitmen Fall to Hurricanes 3-2 in Overtime
The Calgary Hitmen welcomed the Lethbridge Hurricanes to Seven Chiefs Sportsplex for game three of preseason action. The visitors came out victorious with a 3-2 overtime win.
Lethbridge opened up the scoring in the first period with a goal from Miguel Marques. Calgary was kept off the scoreboard until the beginning of the second when Matteo Danis evened the score. Lethbridge had an answer regaining the lead at 8:02 in the second.
Chase Valliant would tie it up once again with helpers from Reese Hamilton and Matteo Danis. The third period remained scoreless ultimately pushing the game to extra minutes. Anton Astashevich would be the one to seal the deal for Lethbridge scoring with under three minutes left in overtime.
Shots finished up 43- 26 in favour of Lethbridge.
Calgary now heads to Red Deer to play the Rebels, finishing off the preseason with a 7:00 pm puck drop at the Peavey Mart Centrium. The team will then look forward to the Home Opener on Friday, September 22nd when they take on the Medicine Hat Tigers. Tickets are on sale now.
