Three Hitmen Named in NHL Central Scouting Mid-Term Rankings
Calgary, AB – Three Calgary Hitmen players were ranked in the NHL Central Scouting preliminary rankings for the 2025 NHL Draft on Tuesday morning. Forward Ben Kindel comes in ranked at #20 amongst North American Skaters, while forward Brandon Gorzynski joins him at #81. Also ranked is Goaltender Anders Miller who comes in at #19 amongst North American goalies.
Ben Kindel – Forward (#20)
Benjamin Kindel was drafted by Calgary in the 2022 WHL Prospects draft selected in the second round, 43rd overall. He had an impressive rookie season finishing third in team scoring with 60 points (15G, 45A) in 68 games in the 2023-24 season. Kindel brought home gold for Canada at the Hlinka Gretzky Cup in August and was was also selected for the CHL USA Prospects Challenge that took place in November. The forward from Coquitlam BC is having a impressive season, currently riding a record breaking 23 game point streak. Kindel has 64 points (24g,40a) in 38 games, already surpassing his previous season total of 60 points. He sits fifth in the WHL points race.
Brandon Gorzynski – Forward (81)
Brandon Gorzynski was drafted by Calgary in the 2022 WHL U.S. Priority Draft selected 15th overall. The forward from Scottsdale, AZ enters his second season with the Calgary Hitmen. Gorzynski is off to a solid start in his sophomore year with 25 points (7g, 18a) through 39 games. The 6’2 forward is currently riding a career high point streak, registering 7 points (2g, 5a) in five straight games.
Anders Miller – Goaltender (#19)
Anders Miller, a product of Anchorage, Alaska, came to the Hitmen from the Lloydminster Bobcats of the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) and was signed to Calgary mid November. Since then goaltender has appeared in 11 games posting a record of 9-2-0-0. He currently sits with 2.45 GAA and 0.906 SV%. Highlights included his first WHL career shutout in his second start against the Moose Jaw Warriors on December 1.

The Hitmen return play this weekend, starting with a home-and-home with their Eastern Conference Rivals the Medicine Hat Tigers. It kicks off on January 17th when they welcome them for a 7:00 p.m. start time at the Scotiabank Saddledome. Tickets are available here.
