RECAP: Hitmen Dominate Rebels 4-1 Victory at Home
Calgary, AB – The Calgary Hitmen opened a home-and-home series with the Red Deer Rebels on Friday night, coming out with a dominant 4-1 win at the Scotiabank Saddledome.
Three unanswered third period goals proved to be the difference. Goaltender Eric Tu set the tone early, turning aside a Red Deer penalty shot just over five minutes into the game. Andrei Molgachev opened the scoring in the dying seconds of the first period, netting his 11th of the season. The Rebels responded late in the second period, as Noah Milford tied the game heading into the intermission.

With the score tied heading into the final frame, Kale Dach broke the deadlock by redirecting a shot pass from Wyatt Pisarczyk. Brandon Gorzynski followed shortly after, burying the rebound off a shot from Harrison Lodewyk. Keaton Jundt rounded out the scoring with a one timer off a slick cross ice feed from Pisarczyk to seal the 4-1 victory.

Calgary outshot Red Deer 41-22, with Tu finishing the night with 21 saves.
Wyatt Pisarczyk earned first-star honours with his three assist performance, marking his first career three point game. Brandon Gorzynski was named second star with a goal and an assist, while Axel Hurtig collected third star recognition with an assist and a +3 rating.
Calgary makes the return trip to Central Alberta tomorrow, Saturday, Dec. 13 for a rematch with the Rebels. Game time is 6:00 p.m. at Marchant Crane Centrium. The Hitmen then have just two games remaining on their pre-holiday break schedule. On Wednesday, Dec. 17 they Swift Current in a 7:00 p.m. start followed by a rare Friday matinee when they host Brandon at 1:00 p.m. Both games will be played at Scotiabank Saddledome.
