RECAP: Hitmen Defeat Warriors In Thrilling 5-4 In Front of Over 17,000 Fans
Calgary, AB – The Calgary Hitmen welcomed more than 17,000 students to the Scotiabank Saddledome on Wednesday morning for their annual TELUS Be Brave #EndBullying Game in support of Pink Shirt Day. The Hitmen came out with a thrilling 5-4 win over the visiting Moose Jaw Warriors.
Calgary set the tone early with a dominant first period, striking for three unanswered goals. Keaton Jundt opened the scoring less than five minutes into the contest. Kale Dach doubled the lead on a beautiful passing play with Landon Amrhein, and Julien Maze capped the frame with his 32nd goal of the season to give the Hitmen 3-0 lead after 20 minutes.

Moose Jaw pushed back in the second period, with Ethan Semeniuk and Landen McFadden finding the back of the net to cut the deficit to one, shifting momentum and putting Calgary on its heels heading into the third.
The Warriors completed the comeback early in the final frame, with Riley Thorpe and Nolan Paquette scoring to give Moose Jaw its first lead of the game at 4-3. The Hitmen would respond with Landon Amrhein burying the equalizer with 6:35 remaining in regulation. Ottawa Senators prospect Blake Vanek played hero, wiring home the power play winner with 3:30 to play to seal the 5-4 victory.

With the win, Calgary improves to 33-15-7-1 on the season and moves within three points of the Edmonton Oil Kings for third place in the Eastern Conference standings.
Calgary will now has a two day break before facing Medicine Hat in a home-and-home set beginning Friday, Feb. 27 at Scotiabank Saddledome. The Hitmen then make a return visit to the Gas City on Saturday, Feb. 28. Both are 7:00 p.m. starts.
