RECAP: Hitmen Close Out Season Series with Raiders Falling 3-1
Calgary, AB – The Calgary Hitmen closed out their season series tonight against the Prince Albert Raiders Friday night, falling 3-1 to the visitors.
The first period remained scoreless before the Raiders took control in the second, scoring three unanswered goals after the Hitmen were unable to take advantage of a four minute power play opportunity. Goals came from Ben Harvey, Max Heise, and Daxon Rudolph.
The Hitmen pushed back in the third period, outshooting the Raiders 11-7. Harrison Lodewyk found the back of the net with four minutes remaining, but Calgary ultimately ran out of time to complete the comeback, making the final score 3-1. Calgary remains fourth in the Eastern Conference with a record of 34-18-8-1.
The Hitmen have seven games remaining in their 68-game regular season schedule. Of those seven, three are on the road and four at home. They will play Edmonton three times with single dates against Regina, Brandon, Red Deer and Lethbridge.
Calgary wraps up the weekend with a Sunday, Mar. 8 visit from Regina in a 2:00 p.m. start at Scotiabank Saddledome. It’s another Sunday Funday in the ‘Dome presented by Brookfield Residential where fans can enjoy $6 food and drink deals all game long, $3 sips and snacks plus Face Painting, the Fun Zone on the West Concourse and a Post-Game Family Skate. The Hitmen will then host Brandon on Wednesday, Mar. 11. Game time is 7:00 p.m. in the ‘Dome.
