RECAP: Hitmen Bounce Back With 6-2 Win over Broncos
Swift Current, SK – The Calgary Hitmen played the fifth game of their six-game East Division road trip tonight in Swift Current, earning their third win of the swing with a 6-2 victory over the Broncos.
Calgary’s offense was rolling, with seven players recording multi-point nights. The Hitmen were also perfect on the penalty kill, shutting down all four Swift Current power play opportunities.
Brandon Gorzynski opened the scoring on the power play just over five minutes into the first period, finishing a back-door feed from Kale Dach (3a). Ben MacBeath (1g, 1a) added his fourth of the season, burying his own rebound to give Calgary a 2-0 lead after one.
Rylan Ng and Luc Trevors struck 13 seconds apart early in the second to extend the lead to 4-0. Two minutes later, Landon Amrhein (1g, 1a) converted on a breakaway for his fourth of the year to make it 5-0.

Swift Current broke through late in the second with a goal from Brennan Brown. Carter Moen added another early in the third to cut the deficit to 5-2. Gorzynski closed out the scoring with a power-play marker for his ninth of the season to secure the 6-2 final. Eric Tu was steady in net with 22 saves.

The night marked a homecoming for Head Coach Dustin Friesen, returning to InnovationPlex 21 years after captaining the Broncos in 2004. He played four seasons in Swift Current from 2000–2004.
Calgary swept the three stars with Gorzynski earning first star with his third multi-goal game of the season. Shaun Hildebrant (2a) claimed second with his first career multi-point outing, and Amrhein rounded out the trio in third. The Hitmen improve to 11-4-2-0 on the season with a road trip record of 3-1-1-0.
The Hitmen road trip ends tomorrow, Saturday, Nov. 8 in Saskatoon against the Blades. Calgary then returns home on Friday, Nov. 14 to welcome the Blades at 7:00 p.m. in the back half of a home-and-home set.
