Hitmen Shutout in Medicine Hat
The Calgary Hitmen continued preseason on the road at Co-op Place in Medicine Hat Saturday night. Calgary would be kept off the scoresheet in a 5-0 loss to the home team.
The first period would remain scoreless until Gavin McKenna netted a buzzer beater on the powerplay at the end of the first period to put Medicine Hat on the board first.
Medicine Hat would continue to apply pressure in the second keeping Calgary to only two shots. Brayden Boehm secured Medicine Hat’s second goal at the 10:20 mark. Oasis Weisblatt would follow up extending the lead just three minutes later. The third period would see two more goals from the home team in the second half of the final frame. Ryder Ritchie found the back of the net at the 10:25 mark. Jonas Woo followed suit extending the lead to 5-0. Shots finished 29-22 in favour of Medicine Hat.
Calgary returns to preseason action next Friday when they travel to Lethbridge to face the Hurricanes. Calgary then returns home to conclude the preseason welcoming the Edmonton Oil Kings to Sikska Deerfoot Sportsplex on Sunday September 15th. Game time is 4:00 pm and is free to attend.
