RECAP: Cougars Defeat Giants 5-0

Prince George, B.C. – The Vancouver Giants were shut out 5-0 by the Prince George Cougars on Friday night at the Langley Events Centre.
The Giants’ record falls to 8-12-1-0 this season.
The visitors got goals from five different players: Terik Parascak, Hunter Laing, Hudson Thornton, Zac Funk and Oren Shtrom. In net, North Vancouver native Joshua Ravensbergen was the first star with a 26-save shutout.
With the win, the Cougars improved their record to 15-6-0-0.
Just 2:38 into the second period, the Cougars extended their lead off a power play goal from Hudson Thornton, who blasted home a one-timer from the high slot off a pass from Koehn Ziemmer.
The Cougars took a 3-0 lead into the second intermission, where the shots on goal were even 22-22.
Zac Funk scored a key goal for Prince George 44 seconds in the third period, giving them an even more comfortable lead at 4-0, after he gained the offensive blue line and fired a wrist shot perfectly to the top corner for his 17th goal of the year.
Midway through the third period, Shtrom would make it 5-0 for the visitors with his fifth goal of the season.
