PREVIEW: Giants Visit Hawks on Saturday Looking to Rebound
PORTLAND, OR – The Vancouver Giants (16-21-1-1) need to bounce back quickly on Saturday when they battle the Portland Winterhawks (19-17-1-0) on the road following a regulation loss to Spokane on Friday.
After Friday’s setback, the Giants find themselves in 10th place – four points out of the eighth and final playoff spot, but they have also played six more games than Seattle, who sit two points behind them.
The Giants are 6-13-0-1 on the road this season.
The Winterhawks are coming off a 6-2 road loss to the Wenatchee Wild on Friday night, their fourth loss in their last five games. Portland sits in sixth place in the West.
This will be the fourth head-to-head matchup already this season; the Giants are 1-2-0 so far.
The WHL trade deadline is less than a week away: set for Thursday, January 8 at 5 p.m. PT.
