PREVIEW: Giants Look to Bounce Back vs. T-Birds on Saturday
Kent, WA – The Vancouver Giants (8-9-0-1) face off with the Seattle Thunderbirds (6-8-1-0) tonight in the first of four meetings this season.
The Giants are coming off a 5-2 road loss on Friday night to the Tri-City Americans. Vancouver is 6-3-0-1 in their last nine, after starting the season 2-6-0-0.
The Giants have now played 15 different teams in their first 18 games.
Seattle is coming off a 4-2 road loss to the Penticton Vees, but had previously picked up points in four of their last five. They are 4-2-1-0 on home ice this season with a +8 goal differential.
First-round NHL picks Braeden Cootes (Vancouver) and Radim Mrtka (Buffalo) have both been returned to Seattle from the pro ranks. Cootes has seven points (3G-4A) in seven games and Mrtka has three assists in four games.
Last season, Vancouver went 2-2-0 against the Thunderbirds, losing both games south of the border.
