TODAY’S MATCHUP
The Giants are coming off a 1-2-0 weekend, most recently a 3-1 home loss to the Seattle Thunderbirds on Family Day, meaning they are now 11 points out of the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference.
Vancouver remains without their two biggest stars: defenceman Ryan Lin (upper body) and forward Mathis Preston (lower body), who are still week-to-week, but getting closer to returning to action.
Spokane is currently sitting in sixth place in the Wester Conference with 55 points. They are coming off a 4-2 road win over Wenatchee and have alternated win-loss-win-loss over their last seven (4-3-0).
The Giants and Chiefs last faced off just a couple weeks ago, when the Giants prevailed 3-1 on home ice. Vancouver hasn’t won on the road since mid-December. The last time they were in Spokane was a 3-2 loss on January 2, when current Giant Mathis Preston scored the game-winning-goal.
Former Giants Marek Howell and Tyus Sparks are expected to be in the lineup tonight for the Chiefs.
