PREVIEW: Giants Host Thunderbirds on Family Day Monday
LANGLEY, B.C. – The Vancouver Giants (20-31-1-2) host the Seattle Thunderbirds (21-23-4-3) today in just the second of four meetings this season.
The Giants have gone 1-1 so far this weekend. They grabbed a big 3-2 win over the Penticton Vees on Friday night thanks to 35 saves from goaltender Kelton Pyne, goals from Jan Skok and Misha Volotovskii, plus the shootout winner from Jakob Oreskovic. On Saturday, however, they took a step back with an 8-2 road loss in Kelowna where they were trailing 5-0 after one period.
The Giants get a boost up front with the return of forward Adam Titlbach, but they remain without their two biggest stars: defenceman Ryan Lin (upper body) and forward Mathis Preston (lower body).
Vancouver and Seattle haven’t met since November 8.
There will be a post-game skate following today’s contest! If you don’t have your own skates or helmet, they can be rented ($3 for skates, $1 for helmet).

They have won three in a row after sweeping a home-and-home with Tri-City this weekend, winning 4-1 at home on Friday and then 2-1 on the road on Saturday.
Seattle enters action five points out of the eighth and final playoff spot with 17 games remaining.
The Giants and T-Birds have met just once this season, way back in November, when the Giants got behind early and couldn’t claw back, eventually losing 8-3.
