PREVIEW: Giants Host Silvertips for Y2K Night on Saturday
Langley, B.C. – The Vancouver Giants (10-14-1-1) host the Everett Silvertips (20-2-2-1) for Y2K Night this evening at Langley Events Centre at 7 p.m.
The Giants will look to win back-to-back games for the first time since October 25/26, after a 3-2 road shootout win last night over the Penticton Vees where goaltender Kelton Pyne made a career-high 46 saves.
The Giants are 3-6-1-0 in their last 10 games.
Fans are encouraged to dress up in their best Y2K costume, with a $500 Shopper Drug Mark gift card up for grabs. There will also be a Finish the Lyric contest with the winner getting a pair of tickets to see the Offspring at Rogers Arena on January 24.
The Silvertips are coming off a lopsided 6-0 win on home ice last night over the Swift Current Broncos. Everett is 7-1-1-1 in their last 10, but a resounding 13-0-0-0 so far this season on the road.
The Giants and Silvertips battled once earlier this season on Nov. 10, where Everett broke a 0-0 deadlock midway through the third period and added an empty net goal to win the game 2-0.
